TinyHosting-Ashley
Hi, Hoping someone might be able to advise if this is possible and if so how. We've started adding VAT onto our prices this month, Our prices are currently inclusive of VAT for those in the UK. One of our hosting plans cost £2 including VAT so the cost of VAT is just taken from that £2. However if someone outside the UK for example in the USA comes to us the price they pay is £2 less 20% VAT. Is there any way to charge £2 for everyone but for UK customers to pay £2 which includes VAT.
zomex
Hello, This comes down to personal preference but in my opinion it's best to set VAT as exclusive, that way you have full control over which country pays VAT, customer's who don't need to pay VAT also see the correct price if for example VAT is removed for a American customer during checkout they are still seeing the VAT price for a amount of time. Personally I've had American customer's who generally don't like seeing VAT at all and I don't blame them. With exclusive VAT I mention that all prices exclude VAT and that VAT will be calculated during checkout if applicable. Using the UK MOSS setup you also have to charge the VAT rate of your customer's country. This is easier to do with the exclusive setup.
