apollo1 Posted October 25, 2007 Share Posted October 25, 2007 When editing a product/service, is it safe to modify the contents of the "Field Name" in the custom fields tab? Beside that field is a link which says, "Remove Custom Field & Delete ALL Data". So now I am wondering -- if I change the value of Field Name, will it just create another field in the database while leaving the original field intact? Iceman Posted October 25, 2007 Share Posted October 25, 2007 You can rename the field name and it keeps all the existing data. On another note: I found that deleting the custom field did not actually delete the data anyway. It simply removed the reference to the data and left it in the database (Haven't tried it on the latest version though). Therefore, if you accidently deleted a custom field, the field and data could be restored as long as you edited the database and applied the original ID for that custom field.
