primaryNavbar Question

Hello all, thank you for any help on my question.

How can I change items in the primaryNavbar such as Annoucements, home, etc?

I have read through the documentation finding this:

http://docs.whmcs.com/Client_Area_Navigation_Menus_Cheatsheet

I realize this is exactly what I am trying to do but where do I place the php file? In the template folder that I am currently using?

My current code in work.php is

<?php

use WHMCS\View\Menu\Item as MenuItem;

add_hook('ClientAreaPrimaryNavbar', 1, function (MenuItem $primaryNavbar)
{
   $navItem = $primaryNavbar->getChild('Support');
   if (is_null($navItem)) {
       return;
   }

   $navItem = $navItem->getChild('Announcements');
   if (is_null($navItem)) {
       return;
   }
    $navItem->setLabel('Register');
   $navItem->setUri('https:/myregistrationurl');

});
