hostservice_71
Before I send this in as a ticket and problem, I just want to make sure: Now that I added a second payment option for my customers to choose from (Bitcoincs, but I don't think that matters) I noticed something interesting. If a customer wants to pay their invoice and open it, it obviously displays the invoice page. That shows a drop-down menu with payment options. By default, our first payment provider is selected, there is always a default showing up. I noticed that when I change it to the second new provider in the drop-down, it immediately takes action, as if it forwards some initial info to the payment provider. Now, this seems to happen as well to the default payment option as well, as soon as the page is opened or when it is selected from the menu. So, what happens is: Payment provider 1 is now sending me mails that I have an unfinished payment, that is waiting to be completed. While I actually used payment number 2 to pay my invoice successfully. My customers now will keep on being bothered for some time by payment provider 1 (who does not seem to have an easy option to stop sending these reminders....who actually come in handy in case something really goes wrong) for a payment they have already made. Unless I'm seeing it wrong, it seems the invoice page sends payment info to the providers too soon, simply on selection of the menu?
brian!
testing locally on my v6 dev, I can see the page refreshes when changing payment option - but none of them have triggered payment... some of them are offline payments (bank transfer, cheque etc), so they'll do nothing - but neither does paypal (except adds a checkout button top right)... it isn't auto-sending anything and i'm pretty sure that they shouldn't by default. I think the payment option will matter - support wouldn't help with a 3rd-party addon, so if the blockchain module is causing this, they might not be of much use... and if you're primary payment method is also 3rd-party, you may be out of luck! it still might be worth contacting support though and mentioning your two payment options and seeing what they say... as a last resort, you can always disable the "Clients Choose Gateway" option from the admin settings.
hostservice_71
Then I guess it's me at this point. I'll double check next week. And..I noticed an option at the payment provider not to bother customers for 'a second chance'. As far as I can see it's safe to take that option.
