Allowing muti year registrations after domain search

Hi

WHMCS 6+ has limited the domain registration options to just 1 year, or the lowest year you have in domain pricing.

eg we have upto ten year options for UK domains, yet when someone searches they can only register the domain for just 1 year, support have said its to streamline things, but for UK domains where most people choose 2 years+ its a big problem.

WHMCS have said that template FIVE still allows this, but that is buggy, so I was hoping somone had an idea of how to change say SIX to allow this, as I have a third party template that is based on SIX

Thank you.

Hi,

domainchecker is designed to be a streamlined way of registering domains - but I can think of two simple ways around this.

1. remove the 1-year pricing for *.uk TLDs - e.g, make the 2-year option the minimum and then domainchecker will offer 2-year registrations automatically.

that would solve your 1-year issue, but not registrations for more than 2-years.

2. don't use domainchecker for domain registrations, do it through the cart instead - cart.php?a=add&domain=register - perhaps using the modern template.

if you go down this road, then the user will be offered multi-year options (if priced) for selected TLD and alternate TLD options.

you might need to use a hook to modify the "Buy A Domain" link, but have a play with the cart domain registration options and see if it will suit your needs.
