[not reproducible] 6.0.2 Email Sending Failed - Message body empty

so ever since upgrading to 6.0.2 when i try and send an email it says 'Email Sending Failed - Message body empty'

 

looking at activity log i get this

 

Smarty Error: Syntax error in template "mailTemplate:plaintext" on line 1

Smarty Error: Syntax error in template "mailTemplate:message" on line 15

Hello,

 

This sounds like a situation where a ticket is the best way to solve it. We need to look and see what is going on with the specific email templates (and/or email template headers) you are setting up to fix the syntax error. If you had this right after coming from 5.3.x, I would recommend starting with enabling the {php} tag support.
