Accessing the front end of site

Hi

I have been trying to figure out how the front end works all morning. I have watched some youtube vids and read through the getting started guide and have most of the set-up done in my configuration area.

The set-up guide I used had me extract the WHMCS zip to a folder, not to put all the contents on my domain root. I'm starting to think this is not correct though as there are no default pages in my root folder.

Does WHMCS come with the front end site for customers to use and access hosting packages?

I tried going to http://www.mysite.com/folder/index.php but it comes up blank.

I know this is probably as basic as it gets, but I'm really having trouble finding an answer.

Cheers

either would work and depends on if you want your WHMCS site to run as a folder of your domain (e.g you have a site already running in the root folder), or if you want WHMCS to be the site for your domain.

Does WHMCS come with the front end site for customers to use and access hosting packages?

yes, it comes with a couple of templates - "Five" and "Six".

I tried going to www.mysite.com/folder/index.php but it comes up blank.

if you can log into your admin area, what happens when you click on the "Client Area" link at the top-left of the page?

Thanks Brian!

I really want it all to be on the root, if my understanding of it is correct. I thought I would install WHMCS to my root folder. I can admin the site using /admin. If you go to my website (http://www.mysite.com), you get the front end and can buy services, etc. Is that right?

Also, does the WHMCS talk to my reseller control panel? If a customer completes a sucessful order and makes payment, is the process automated for them to get confirmation and account login details?

When I click on the Client Area link, I get a blank page.

that's right.

if you want it in the root, delete the whmcs (or whatever you called it) folder, delete the database and start again from scratch... e.g uploading the contents of the whmcs folder into the root and then running install again.

yes... if you've setup the products and settings correctly - the documentation site and videos should guide you through that.

When I click on the Client Area link, I get a blank page.

you shouldn't do - but that can occur for any number of reasons... one of which might be an incomplete or corrupt upload - but as you're going to delete it, it doesn't matter.

when you install it the second time, after a successful installation, check both admin and client areas - if both are fine, then begin the process of configuring the settings.
