greghl
I've been looking at the dashboard calendar - I've never noticed it before (I don't think it's new though) - and on this version (v6.01) - it's not that helpful towards the end of the month - I don't see anywhere to click to view events for August and being that it's the end of the month on Friday, I would like to know what events are scheduled for the 1st part of next month. What would be useful would be: 1. >> arrows to see next month 2. the ability to click an entire week and see the total number of items in the week (products services renewing, domains renewing etc). 3. the ability to click on the summary of items and see which products/services, addons, domains etc are in this list - ie, it's all well and good to know X number of domains expire, but it would be more helpful to be able to click right to a list of those items. 4. enter start/end date to see items due in this time period?? Yes, I know I can go into invoices and view invoices unpaid, but that doesn't tell me if domains are setup as non-auto-renew and no invoice is generated. I also know I can go into domain registrations and sort by next due date - I'm looking for quick improvements, not the work-arounds I already have to find these things. hth
brian!
I'm looking for quick improvements, not the work-arounds I already have to find these things. it's an optimist who expects improvements from WHMCS; it's a sadist who expects them to occur quickly! the calendar on the admin home page is only a summary - for 1,2, and 3 take a look at the full calendar.. Utilities -> Calendar http://docs.whmcs.com/System_Utilities#Calendar 4 would probably be better solved by a widget.
greghl
asking for improvements to the dashboard is sadistic? tsk. - - - Updated - - - brian! - I know there are workarounds. I even said as much. My point was to offer small incremental improvements which should be relatively easy to implement - even making the dashboard calendar widget a link to the full calendar with all boxes checked would be a usability improvement that would be SUPER easy to implement.
brian!
asking for improvements to the dashboard is sadistic? tsk. well, believing that posting an improvement suggestion in these forums will even be read, let alone implemented, by the developers is, at best, naive... perhaps while the beta development was ongoing, but I suspect things have returned to 'normal' now. brian! - I know there are workarounds. I even said as much. you didn't mention that you knew about the full calendar which I what I mainly posted about. My point was to offer small incremental improvements which should be relatively easy to implement. I get that, but the WHMCS developers don't read these forums (WHMCS have frequently said this) - therefore, they aren't going to see your post and thus it has zero chance of being implemented. don't get me wrong - i'd love to see WHMCS being a more responsive company... in my early days here, I tried hard to encourage them to be more responsive... but they are what they are and I can live with that. if they ever start to do it on a regular basis (outside a beta period), then i'll be the first to praise them - I just haven't seen any consistent sign of it over the last few years and I don't really expect to. but if you feel the urge to make a suggestion, then the feature requests is the official method - whether it will do any good, I doubt... but it's probably got a higher success rate than posting here! even making the dashboard calendar widget a link to the full calendar with all boxes checked would be a usability improvement that would be SUPER easy to implement. I think the argument will be that the calendar widget isn't encoded, therefore if you want to add this feature, you can do so yourself - that's why the widgets aren't encoded, so that users can make such changes.
