customization of clientarea.php

It all depends on where and how you have your WHMCS setup on your server. If you have cPanel you may wish to simple a search clientarea.php file to locate. And, make a copy of it, save as clientarea_copy.php, before making any adjustments. Am new to attempting custom edits myself and find it essential to search forums if I'm unable to find it at http://docs.whmcs.com/Main_Page .

Where can I find a template for this page, so that I can display there some extra link to users who purchased a specific service?

there are a number of templates that clientarea.php uses - the opening page for logged in clients is clientareahome.tpl
