Email templates not getting sent.

Hi there,

I am having some issues since today with sending out preset email templates to my clients.

 

Once I have the service setup for the client I will go to their client profile in the whmcs admin area and send them a message from one of the templates I have. This worked till yesterday, today I tried this out and I get the message saying: "Success! The email was sent successfully." but it does not get sent out, neither does it show in the email logs that it was sent out.

 

Then I decided rather then selecting the template that I would send out a new message and load the template in. When I try sending that message though I get the following error:

 

"Email Sending Failed - Message body empty

Email Queue Processing Completed"

 

So then I thought that maybe something in the templates got messed up, when I clicked on the email template I wanted to edit I noticed that the Product Related Available Merge Fields arent there anymore. Even though it is set as a product email template the merge fields do not appear at the bottom anymore.

 

I have no clue what the issue is and in every log I look no emails seem to be going out. Only if I send out a manual message with no "variables" (Merge Fields) it works.

 

Does anybody know what the issue could be?

finally they responded.. thank you "WHMCS Nate" :D

 

we have to use a old db backup... and fix some symbols like ´ or ñ mannualy, but that´s ok... and they oppened a Case #CORE-8788 for the missing Merge Fields..

denial,. Great to hear there is a fix. Are you able to share details of the process for fixing the issue?

I was able to figure out how to fix the problem with custom email templates not showing up in WHMCS 6.0.1. Here is what I did. Hope it helps someone.

 

1. Setup a temporary database on a server with the WHMCS database from before upgrading to WHMCS 6.0.1

2. Using PHPAdmin navigate to the old database -> tblemailtemplates - > and select the email template you have customized

3. Copy the "message" field

3. In the problematic WHMCS 6.0.1 database navigate to the same field, and paste the "message" field you just copied

4. Click "Go" to update the field

5. Now in WHMCS you should be able to edit the email template again.

Can confirm here that am unable to invoice ANY client - and all I get is: Email Sending Failed - Message body empty

 

this is since upgrading from 6.0 (which worked GREAT!!) - to 6.0.1 which just does not work at all - it's a shambles
