dbmv
With Paypal Combined, does this mean that if a customer orders an addon, or whatnot, to their plan (which is paypal subscription based), the subscription amount will change and debit automatically? Or is this still like invoices where the client gets an invoice, pays it, and that is it?
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted October 11, 2007 WHMCS CEO Share Posted October 11, 2007 Only products & services are paid by subscriptions. Addons & Domains are billed as one time charges. But all items are now invoiced so clients can recreate subscriptions from invoices. That's what has changed. Matt
dbmv
Thanks for the reply Matt. Any clue as to how Godaddy does it? Apart from them being a large company, they can now change the subscription payment, as long as they have customer approval, without having to go through their billing system again. Will that be at all possible with WHMCS, or does that reside in the fact they are a large company and Paypal just accepts it?
mrprez
Anyone can change a PP subscription using the &modify=1 or 2 variable. The customer does need to approve the change. John
dbmv
Oh, nice! It's great that the customer needs to approve it, but won't need to go through the hassle of re-creating it. Does WHMCS support this?
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted October 11, 2007 WHMCS CEO Share Posted October 11, 2007 GoDaddy does not use subscriptions. They can debit a PayPal account but PayPal won't allow small companies and individuals like those using WHMCS to do it. As for modifying subscriptions, it's far easier to cancel and recreate .
