snake
We have just done a new install of WHMCS, and have trouble getting it working, so had to contact WHMCS support. they have told me that it is a requirement to have full WRITE permissions across the entire website for WHMCS to work due to realpath() function. Obviously this is a big security no no to do this, especially on accounts and billing software. I am rather confused by this advice as it conflicts with our other installation as well as the docs which explicitly say you should not do this.. Our current install has been running for years and DOES NOT have write permissions across whole site. It has WRITE permission only on the folders specified in WHMCS install guide, which explicitly states that write should only be given on Attachments, downloads, templates_c anyone got any feedback on this ? We are on Windows/IIS btw.
