How to display order number in Invoice Created(Customer Invoice)

Setup > Email Templates > Invoice Messages > Invoice Created(Customer Invoice)

I created "Order Number: {$order_number}" in this template.

But {$order_number} was not displayed.

Please tell me the solution.

in the email templates, you can only use the merge fields that are shown in the "Available Merge Fields" at the bottom of the page - so you can't necessarily use a merge field that is available in another email template (e.g {order_number}).

 

also, it is worth remembering that not all invoices will have an order number - renewal invoices don't have them.
