0 minadreapta
if i'm not wrong, directi will raise prices due to ICANN fees raising.
0 WHMCS CEO Matt Posted October 6, 2007 WHMCS CEO Share Posted October 6, 2007 Prices are reduced by $0.30 at the moment so just $7.65 for new domain registrations & transfers. There will be an increase when the DirectI prices rise but it will be less of a rise than DirectI is making. Matt
0 LeMarque
Your not giving me anything to get upset about here Matt. As soon as I can find someone to implement the directi API into my web site I'll signup for WHMCS. - Lance

0 LeMarque
I know - I will be using WHMCS for intial client registrations but once an account is established the client is emailed a link to their DirectI control panel which is terrible. The end result I'm looking for is: Somehow eliminate all the popup windows - i.e. if a user wants to register a new domain, a window opens that looks like they were just taken to a phishing site And if possible, not to show the option for Hosting accounts.

Um, unless im mistaken, when using WHMCS and Directi, users will never have anything to do with directi themselves. They would have no idea where you get your domains unless they did a bit of research. At least thats how things work with enom. I personally wouldnt do business with directi, but thats just my opinion.
0 LeMarque
Thanks MACscr So if a client goes to my site, uses WHMCS to register a domain name and then needs to manage it, say change name servers or contact info, how do they do that unless they log into their Directi Customer Control Panel. Which link is emailed to them automagically? As far a enom goes - I agree but its much too pricey for me. I can get buy rates of +/- $7.00 that include ID Protect.
0 WHMCS CEO Matt Posted October 7, 2007 WHMCS CEO Share Posted October 7, 2007 No link is emailed to them automatically by WHMCS. And your clients can change nameservers and WHOIS servers for their domain in your WHMCS client area all on your website with WHMCS. 0 LeMarque
OK. I've been rgistering thru the Directi interface, not thru WHMCS; yet. So what happens if my server goes down for an extended period of time. How does my my client manage their domain reg. Or if I go out of business..
0 volusia
Well, if you go out of business... What I would suggest is to setup an account within directi for each client, then transfer each clients domain to their own directi customer account within your control panel. Then, for the next year, they can manage it there and renew it elsewhere later. Now, I am assuming you can do this. I have an account directly with Directi and have done this for clients that leave my company. I'm sure theres a few other solutions ... but this is a quick/easy way to give them control of their domains.
0 LeMarque
I have an account directly with Directi and have done this for clients that leave my company. Thanks volusia How does your customer that registered a domain name thru WHMCS manage his domain if they want to, for instance, set that domain name as their name servers; i.e. ns1.registeredthruwhmcs.com ns2.registeredthruwhmcs.com Lance
0 netearth
Hi LeMarque, The other quick and dirty way is you create a sub reseller of your RC account, when and if they want to move, you simply "push" them to your other account, then go into the RC control panel as your "loosing customer reseller account", click Customers, List customer, click on the customer and click "Send Password", its the 6th button on the top line within Customer Details. Hey presto, you put your prices up a little on the loosing reseller account and leave the client to it. They can then do full management, including DNS, privacy protect etc etc there.
