How do i disable Yubikey in WHMCS - cant access WHMCS - entered wrong Client ID

Hello

I activated the Yubikey then I typed in the wrong Client ID so now I can not get past a message that says:

An error occurred please try again

The Yubikey value entered could not be validated with the Yubikey API

So I can not access my WHMCS at all. How can I turn off Yubikey/deactivate it/change the client ID or reset it.

Regards

Niki Buskell

Hello, I haven't had a response to this and I have invoices to proceses and jobs to complete.

I login to WHMCS ok then I get a pop up box - Enbable 2 Factor Authentication - Activate (click) - press the Yubikey to enter the code - then I get an error and cant proceed anywhere. (the Yubikey has been tested and it works fine so Yubikey have advised this is a WHMCS issue)

There must be somewhere in the database I can go to rectify this.

I would be most grateful for assistance or advice as this must have happened before?

In summary - Yubikey is not actually activated but when I try to activate there is an error (it must be because I inputted an incorrect Client ID)

Many thanks

Niki

Hi

Thanks for this but I have checked this already the authmodule and authdate are already set to nothing. Yubikey is not activated, I cant activate it and the pop up box doesnt allow me to access anything as its says I need to activate it. Completely stuck.

Yubikey doesnt appear in the database, I have tried replacing files from my back up. Someone must know how I can get ride of this and start again surely?

Please help someone.

Niki

@Condessi - You can try editing tbladmins in your database. There are two fields "authdata" and "authmodule" if you delete the corresponding data for them then you should be able to use that user to log in without 2FA. Something like this:

UPDATE tbladmins SET authmodule=' ', authdata=' ' WHERE id='the Admin ID you wish to remove stored auth tokens for';

Please be sure to backup your database before you run this query.

--Thanks
