Registering .holiday - "tcnID is required for a trademarked domain." - eNom

Hello all,

 

Anyone seen this error:

 

tcnID is required for a trademarked domain.

 

This is being received when trying to register a .holiday domain name. We have successfully registered many .holiday TLDs with eNom via WHMCS checkout however for some reason this is coming up.

 

I have searched and I can purchase elsewhere so unsure why I cannot via WHMCS?

All OK....turns out that there is a specific Trademark on the domain being tried to registered.

 

However it has brought up an interesting issue....if there is a trademark on the domain the cart transaction does not fail nor does it stop the purchase. All it shows is domain name not available when the WHMCS admin looks at the client details

All new gTLD's are checked againts http://www.trademark-clearinghouse.com and if a searched domain name matches a trademark record, then we need to display this to the customer. If the customer acknowledge the trademark agreement, then he can register the domain.

I am surprised that this is not built in to WHMCS searches as we have already had this issue twice!

This is registrar api specific and each registrar works different. Your registrar module provider (whmcs) should implement it.
