themartin
Hi Everyone, I like WHMCS a lot, but I'm pretty new to its inner workings. I've installed it to my server via Installatron about 9 months ago, and have been using Installatron to manage the updates. I just kind of set my clients up and let it do it's thing. I noticed no payments have gone through the last month, so I decided to log in an investigate. Immediately, when I click 'Orders' and a few other links I received the following error: Fatal error: Call to undefined function releasesession() in *filenamevaries* Since installation my admin directory has been a string of gibberish, as recommended for security. Upon looking into this error I noticed I also have an 'admin' folder, with similar files in it. If I log into WHMCS using the /admin directory, there are no such errors. It seems during an update, it's made a new admin directory. I updated my cron to the new directory, and my invoices were generated as normal. I thought I'd rename the old admin folder to see if it was safe to delete, but it seems it's still referenced somewhere. WHMCS complains about missing languages. So my question is, how can I consolidate these two separate admin areas easily? Thank you, Martin

themartin
you should NEVER use an auto installer to handle upgades Hi. Any feedback relating to my current problem? Also, do you have any reading material references for your comment? I've never heard that before.
Damo
You should copy everything from the 'admin' directory to your original 'gibberish' admin folder and then delete the admin directory. It sounds like the Installatron doesn't look at the config file (so it knows your admin directory name) and has just copied files into the default admin directory.

Thank you, these seems to have done the job with no repercussions. I've alerted installatron.
merlinpa1969
I have no documentation, What I do have is 10 years of dealing with the mess that auto installers create when users hit the upgrade buton. Unless there are NO changes to the site it screws it up. We have removed the ability to use the update for installatron on all of our servers just to keep this from happening.
