Should I upgrade to latest 5.2.x or 5.3.x?

Hi all,

I have ordered the upgrade service and was wondering if I should ask to be upgraded only to latest 5.3.4 or instead go for 5.2.x if it's more stable?

I notice the WHMCS homepage still advertises v5.2 - is that a hint?

Your experienced opinions would be appreciated.

Many thanks,

- Vincent

doesn't v5.2 reach end of life at the end of March and won't be updated from that point (regardless of any faults found) - personally, i'd go straight to v5.3.4 and forget about v5.2 (unless any specific modules/addons you want to use only work on v5.2!).

with regards to the site, they'll just be slow updating it... think it mentioned 4.5 when 5.0 was released, 5.0 when 5.1 was released etc.. I wouldn't necessarily take it as a sign of a lack of faith internally in 5.3 that they haven't updated the site!

Hi Vincent,

actually, it's been pretty peaceful in here since the 5.3.4 update - there have been whmcs updates previously that haven't gone too well and have caused lots of errors and issues..

there seemed to be an issue with resellerclub that may or may not have been resolved by the hotfix - but if you aren't using them, then I don't think there's an issue.. difficult to comment on the other issues you mention as I think they're one-offs and not mass problems...
