WHMCS Ticket Spam statistics - We gottem

Recommended Posts

So about a year and a half ago, we created a spam detection addon for WHMCS. In the beginning, it used AKISMET for spam detection, until they began changing their code every week and breaking out addon. Keeping up with them was a nightmare, so we built our own spam detection application and converted to it. Since our conversion, we've been working on providing customers with metrics on how good their tickets are versus the trash that's been flowing in.

While it's been around for awhile, we've only made it available to folks that are using our addon... until today.

Give it a look and tell us what you think. These are all of the spam statistics that we've seen over the last 7 or so months. You'll notice a HUGE chunk right in the middle and then a drastic drop off. This is because we implemented a new feature in our plugin, that took all known (non false positive) spam IP's with 10 or more hits and added them to the WHMCS banned ip's list within the customers WHMCS install. This prevents spambots from even attempting to create a ticket... and thus, prevents the messages from even getting to us.

If you're interested in being one of the hundreds of WHMCS customers who are currently using our service, you can find the FREE addon at our homepage. http://www.excellentuptime.com/whmcsspam.php

If you're not up to sending any information to us, you can configure our addon to only use the known bad IP addresses or check email addresses against StopForumSpam... it's your choice. Give it a try!
