sandboxing
I'm having trouble setting up the Quote/Invoice option. I would like to send a quote to customers for web design and a monthly recurring package I already have setup and working in WHMCS. I setup the quote like this: 1) I manually type in “Webdesign” and assign a price for the first product. 2) For the next product, I click : “Add a Predefined Product” and then choose a monthly package. Once the client accepts, I can successfully convert it into an invoice and the customer pays. However, when I go into the Client Profile, I see that they have paid and that their account is active. Yet nothing is listed under products. There is a record of them accepting and paying for a quote, but they are not signed up to a monthly recurring package. Interestingly, at the top of the Client Summary is the following: Exempt from Tax: No ******** Auto CC Processing: Yes ******** Send Overdue Reminders: Yes ******** Apply Late Fees: Yes It says Auto CC processing is on, but will the card be charged next month when the client has no products/services in their profile?
brian!
I don't think when converting a quote to invoice, WHMCS also sets up the product(s) - I believe that you have to do that yourself manually.
sandboxing
I wouldn't mind adding the product manually, but I wonder how whmcs then ties the recurring payment that is already setup, with the product. If the client wants to alter their hosting plan or I cancel the plan, does whmcs know to change the billing of the card?
brian!
all good questions that I can't answer - hopefully of the whmcs guys will see the thread and answer them.
devbanana
We need this as well. We have highly customized options for our customers, and need to be able to quote and then create custom products/orders that recur.
sandboxing
I can't find a way to make the quote system work with recurring. It's broken. So, if you need to send a quote, make one the usual way. But if the client accepts the quote and wants to pay, don't convert the quote into an invoice (this is the broken part) Instead, create a new client account. Then add the products/services to their account. Then send them an invoice.
