ebmocwen
Can I suggest that security updates alerts are sent by SMS? When vulnerabilities are made public, time is of the essence. I'd rest more easily knowing that if there was an update, I'd get an SMS to my mobile. I find I'm checking my email more often than usual (and these forums) in an attempt to stay as secure as possible. No doubt these troubled times will pass, and WHMCS will be more secure as a result of the focus placed upon it, but in the meantime SMS updates or alerts would be a godsend. WHMCS Chris
This is an excellent suggestion, however one that we cannot immediately facilitate. Assumably, you have just as much access on your phone for email as you do for text messages. Can you PM me your direct email address?
PWPH
Maybe use the blog RSS feed on your phone like I do. Whenever I get a updated feed on my Android phone I get a icon flashing in the taskbar on the phone.
SeanP
Check out this post: http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?80622-How-to-Receive-an-Instant-Email-whenever-WHMCS-adds-a-new-blog-post&p=344350#post344350 Just sign up to If This Then That with your mail-to-SMS gateway email address. This should send a text message when the blog changes.
Monkey Tree Hosting
I agree that this would be an highly valuable feature. Yes, these days with smartphones we have the email on our phone, however, for those of us that are working in more rural area's with GPRS data, when we're out and about, emails don't always load properly or instantly, whereas all my SMS messages from Google Calendar come through in a flash, at the right time, every time. Maybe a suggestion to implement this would to create a shared Google calendar with SMS alerts. Everyone in the WHMCS community can join, and then releases and bug's and notices can be added to this, meaning that when their "due date" is around, then they will get an SMS. (All for free by google!) Just my thoughts!
