brian!
What would be the response if i sent a Register / Renewal request to Registrar which the domain is on Redemption Grace Period ??? there is a grace period and a redemption period for some tld's - if we take .com as an example, I think the grace period is 40 days (so within that time renewals can occur as normal), after that there is a redemption period of 30 days where the existing registrant can in theory renew the domain for an increased fee (with OpenSRS it would be $80, I think Enom is closer to $100). i've read that once a domain goes into redemption, Enom can release or auction it at any time - so the lesson here would be to never let it go into redemption! Also How could i get the RGP status of a domain in WHMCS ? Do i need to check the database manually ? well it will show as expired in the domain profile, or you could go to Domain Registrations and alter the search filter to just show expired domains... so that will give you a list of expired domains, and then you would probably have to check manually that they were in the grace period for that tld... you could likely also check with a sql query - it will depend how many domains we're talking about! I don't think, though i'm happy to be corrected, that whmcs makes any change to the domain setting once its expired, .e.g it's setting gets changed to "expired" once past the expiry date, but doesn't change to "redemption" or "cancelled" at the end of the tld grace period. Please note that we are using ENOM and Internet.bs as Registrar. I don't use either, so my reply is just on how WHMCS would handle these issues generally - there may be added options within their respective modules, but I don't know. the following might be useful for others wishing to check their grace period settings in WHMCS. http://blog.whmcs.com/insights.php
dev_sarks
First of all Thanks brian!, You are doing a great job here.. Okay i understand the RGP mode. But my question is what would happen in WHMCS if i send Renewal Request for a domain which is on RGP mode ? I think it will depends on the Registrar Response, right ? Thanks again, devSarks...
brian!
I think that it will depend on the registrar - if memory serves with OpenSRS we would have to contact support to get a domain in redemption renewed... so if correct, the renewal from whmcs would be rejected by OpenSRS - but as I said previously, I think Enom treat these domains a little differently. if you have a domain in that situation, you could always switch your registrar module into test mode, attempt a renewal and see what happens.
dev_sarks
Yeah that is what I'm trying to do...unfortunately currently we don't have any RGP Domain. Anyway i have already sent a Ticket to eNom and hope they will respond soon... Thanks bro..
