ckh
For some reason, whmcs removed the server password from being displayed to clients in the default template, but left it in the portal and classic templates. They say this is intentional. The logic behind it escapes me. I got my first server 10 years ago, had many servers in different datacenters since then, and at no time could I log in and NOT see the password for my servers. I have many clients that have servers/vps' from me and sometimes they want to log in and retrieve the password for their server/vps. Now they have to open a support ticket, adding more man hours to something that was previously available and is still available in other themes. I can see an option to remove it if someone doesn't want it displayed, but, I can't see removing it completely from the default theme let alone leave it in their two other themes. What I find the most disturbing, though, is not that they said removing it was intentional but that they gave me a link to the whmcs appstore and recommended I look for a third party product that adds that feature back in.
And then there was one les
you can add it back in yourself easily enough it shouldnt need an addon to do it, if its available in the other templates it should be available to be added back in the default, you should be able to open the template it resides in and just copy it into the same template in default.
ckh
My points are that it shouldn't have been taken out and they recommended searching for a 3rd party solution to put it back in, not if it could be added back in or not via the template. Their response to my ticket asking for the logic of it was: This was a design decision for the new 'default' template taken by our developers. However we welcome suggestions for new features on our feature request system: http://requests.whmcs.comFeel free to search existing feature requests, vote, comment and submit your ideas. A design decision??
ADz83
Agreed, Silly decision and cant see any logical reason for it. @ WHMCS if there is a logical reason please provide it as I'm curious. Saying "design edition" doesnt work imo.
