How can a client create a paypal subscription?

the unpaid invoice will have no bearing on the subscription as when the subscription is paid it will create an invoice that has been paid. If the client's product has been adjusted for a subscription ahd the due date set properly, the client will need to login to the client ares, navigate to the product in question, view details and then click pay now. It will take them to PP and charge them according to your settings for due date amount etc and set up the subscription for the next billing date.

Perhaps you misunderstood my question.

The client has an unpaid invoice under their client area. They want to pay via a paypal subscription, but it does not show under the drop down box on the invoice payment screen.

Shouldn't their be an option there?

Note: this is for clients that do not have an activate paypal subscription and paid a different way in the past (ex credit card)

So there is no way for a client to create an paypal subscription on their own for an open invoice?

If so that really needs to be changed, since the majority of clients want an automatic billing method. And for the admin to manually have to change each client to paypal subscription is unrealistic when you have thousands of new invoices each month.
