mtk
Hey, we have a client that pre-paid for 10 support hours. what would be the best way to: 1. charge it (as an addon, product, manual invoice) 2. to track the amount of support provided ? preferably, a way to show the client: you paid for: 10 hours support left: x hours.
durangod
The easiest way i know is to just use the notes on the customers account to notate the date purchased and how much and how much they have left. Its only 10 hours so its easy to update. Then just shoot them an email letting them know how much they have left. If you want an automated way, that i dont know.
mtk
well, yeah, that is the easiest option, but not the most easy to track (for either side). specially if we are talking about more than 10 hours (which were just an example)...
durangod
Maybe i misunderstood, you are talking about 1 client from your post above. For one client there is no need for anything extravagent. Now if you are talking about a bunch of clients or selling that package then yes you need automated. But for one client, just put some notes on thier account that they can see and let it be.
mtk
I gave an example of one client, cause it'd be easier to understand. The idea is to sell and obviously provide support for various clients simultanously. So yes, i'm talking in a larger scale and woukd like a more automated solution.

WebsiteIntegrations
I am wondering if this is something Vision Helpdesk integrated with your WHMCS may help with? http://www.thevisionworld.com/
durangod
Or if you want something free, its alittle rough and alittle hard to get used to, and it is not integrated with anything at all. But it is free open source and i think once you get used to it, it may work for you. Take a look at this. http://www.serena.com/products/openproj/ this might help you as well. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_project-management_software Or you can just write something yourself. Its not that hard to put together a table entry, some fields, get some basic data and run it thru the template. You will prob have to use some hooks but a small mod is prob very easy to do. Someone here could prob whip one up in a few hours.
mtk
I'm looking for a WHMCS solution or at least integration. if you know or have any idea how to do this, please write them down. linking to an external software is not really a solution.
