Newbie - need help in setting up recurring invoices

I have read through all the documentation and experimented with WHMCS for a few days, but can't nail down the correct procedure for doing this simple task. In the process I have inadvertently sent dozens of "billing" emails to unsuspecting clients - color me embarrassed!

All my clients have domains already registered and paid for several years into the future. A few of them are also hosting websites on my shared server, and have paid for the first "period" of hosting (by period I mean that some have paid for 1 year of hosting, some for 2, and some for 3). I set up WHMCS after all this was already in place.

I want to set up future invoicing so that I don't have to track when the hosting is coming up for renewal. And then I want to set up invoicing for the domain renewal with privacy.

As I mentioned, I have figured out how to do each operation separately, but I can't nail down the correct steps to set this up. Specifically, I don't quite understand the way the annual, biennial, and triennial thing works (I see that the correct pricing is entered in the order, when generated), but if I select triennial, for example, the invoice does not show 3 x the price of a year, it shows only 1 x the price. I know I'm missing something, and would appreciate any help.

Cheers,

Allan

Thanks, othellotech, I guess I was confused by the fact that I accepted the default pricing, and assumed that if one year was $100, two was $95/yr, and three was $90/ yr. if I understand you correctly, then I should really enter $190 for 2 years, and $270 for three.
