WHMCS Ticket Spam Control *AKISMET* (Need Beta Testers)

Recommended Posts

Ashley,

I decided to make use of the WHMCS infobox that appears at the top of the screen. Now when a ticket is submitted and it already has (when two people have the ticket open at the same time and click report spam one after the other), it will print a message to the top of the screen stating such. It will also print a message when it was successfully submitted as spam. Please see screenshot.

I also added a confirmation box for when you click on the report spam button.

Thanks,

Chris

That's perfect! Just the sort of thing I was looking for. Keep up the great work xD

Here are the two dialogs.. I decided to change the "already marked" message as an error message because it stands out more. also, changed the success to green so it stands out more.. here are the new messages:

Successfully Submitted:reportedSpam.jpg

Already Submitted:alreadySpam.jpg

Obviously when everything is said and done, these will be part of the language files so you can have it in any language you like.

thanks,

Chris

1.0Beta12 will be out here shortly. It's what I consider to be the last beta before Release Candidates because it includes all of the features that I needed to meet for 1.0. Here's what Beta 12 will bring.

  • Mark Ticket as HAM from view ticket window of WHMCS Ticketing system
  • Mark Ticket(s) as HAM from WHMCS Spam Control Window
  • Delete Ticket(s) from WHMCS Spam Control Window
  • Restore Ticket(s) from WHMCS Spam Control Window
  • Added Confirmation messages to all events.

AKISMET is a forum anti spam plugin primarly used in wordpress.

But i am willing to beta test this to see if it works in WHMCSht7.jpgjh88.jpgdh6.jpg

Tim,

We have all of the beta testers we need. Please also look back in the thread as the akismet piece has been mentioned before. I'm not going to get into it again. Just know that it's working flawlessly in whmcs.

Thanks,

Chris

Beta Testers,

I want to thank each of you for testing out our addon. I've gone ahead and switched your license from trial to full for 1.0. Also, i've found a small bug in our 1.0 final release that I will be addressing this evening that prevents emails that are piped from being scanned properly. I will resolve this tonight and label it 1.1. When that's released, please update to 1.1 final as your current beta's will expire.

On another note, I will also be adding an additional service for scanning spam called http://www.stopforumspam.com/. I will integrating their api within this plugin so that it checks ticket email addresses, ip's and usernames against their HUGE database. This will take the spam detection a step further. Please stay tuned to find out when that release is ready.

Thanks,

Christopher Phipps

Version 1.1 of our addon will be online tonight. It will have the following fixes/changes.

1. Added StopForumSpam.com functions so now it checks against Akismet and StopForumSpam.com to determine if a ticket is spam.

2. Fixed spacing between buttons on several pages.

With the addition of StopForumSpam.com, we've dramatically improved the detection ability of our spam addon. We have been testing for the past month with version 1.1 and based on what we're seeing, we've increased the detection rate from 95% to nearly 99.5% accuracy.

Thanks,

Chris

Got Spam? How about Metrics?

We have been working on our latest release of 1.4 (RC7) and I wanted to share a little bit of what we've been doing. This release was focused on statistics, improving detection and the replacement of akismet with our custom database.. We also added a stats widget to the admin area so you can see how you're doing at detecting spam. Take a look:

Ask and you shall receive. After much code cleaning and removing of the licensing piece. Here is the complete source for our addon.

Please note that we are releasing this source for others to be aware of every aspect of our addon but don't expect users to clone and use the source from the repository directly. We still ask that you use the download from our page which will also be completely open source in the coming days. This will allow us to track downloads for possible support in the future. Use of the bitbucket source version directly will be unsupported by us. If you require support for our addon and are found to be running the bitbucket version we've committed, we will ask you to register and make use of the packaged source on our page.

Our Download Page:

Our opensource code falls under the Apache 2.0 licensing agreement
