How to offer other products with ordering just a domain.

Hi Everyone,

I am new here and already like WHMC and the active forum.

Would someone be so kind and tell me how to I get an addon for domains.

I am sure I read it and saw it for WHMC. I have been trying to find it again for a day now and I do not have to prove my manhood any more. I am going to stop and ask for directions.

I just want to suggest to add product x in the domain sign-up process.

Kind Regards,

Les

Hi MACscr

I hope you are having a great day. Sorry about my inappropriate first post title.

You cannot add domains to a product via the addon, but, you can set up products to show domain registration options via Manage Products & Services.

However, because of your reply, it does appear I have stated my question incorrectly.

What I want to do is to give someone the option to purchase additional products or services while going through to domain sign up or transfer process.

Example:

Someone checks a domain name from my main page.

They are in luck and they go to order now.

At this point in addition to the domain purchase, I would like a tick box to order other products in services before continuing to checkout.

I am thinking I saw this or read it someplace on this board, or the manual.

P.S. That is ok Bear. MACscr has a valid point. Without the correct topic title it makes it hard to help.

Kind Regards,

Les

Come on bear, you should know me by now. I am very blunt, but honest and helpful. Its the internet, i dont like to tip toe around my true feelings, i have to do that enough in real life with my customers. =P

LFCII, it sounds like your complaint/question is more about how the order form is setup. I completely agree that its not obvious out of the box how to handle that. Maybe the new 3.2 handles it a bit different, but with 3.1.x your going to have to modify your domain checker template.

There is probably a better way to do it, but the only way i can think of off the top of my head is by adding a link on th domain checker results page like this:

<a href="order.php?passdomain={$sld}&passext=.{$tld}>Order Hosting</a>

I could be wrong on the variable names as i am just going by memory, but i think that should do it. The template name would be domainchecker.tpl. Its pretty obvious if you just take the time to look. =P

Hi MACscr,

I was truly asking a question with no complaint intended. I really thought I had read or seen what I wanted to do someplace. I spent a day rereading the manual, the templates, and looking at other sites. I figured I was missing how to put the candy in the checkout line. After finding the option is not available, I took a look at the added link option you mentioned. I really do not want to start adding links that might be lost in an upgrade. I believe you are correct and the next upgrade should allow me to upsell from the domainchecker path.

I thank you for taking the time to give me a reply and the code.

Kind Regards,

Les
