Ioncube, Zend and eAccellerator

orty

Question

Hello there!

I'm looking to move to this system based on all the reviews everybody has about it (which are all positive). I'm a WHMAP refugee.

My question is thus: Has anybody sucessfully gotten PHP running with Zend Optimizer, eAccellerator, and ioncube? I see to have issues with ioncube starting when eAccellerator is intalled, but I want to keep eAccell installed as it really does help with some of the php scripts on my server.

I found this:

webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=597044

But haven't had a chance to try it out to make sure it works yet.

But I figured I'd ask here, first before I host my php install again ;-)

Hey Jake,

I haven't used eAccellerator as most if not all my PHP scripts run fine with out it being installed (in terms of speed). Plus its just one more thing that I need to look into when I recompile Apache/PHP.

I can confirm that Ioncube and Zend Optimizer do work on with WHMCS.

To test and see if your server can run WHMCS, order the free 15 day trail. (http://www.whmcs.com/freetrial.php). You will get 15 days to test out WHMCS with no limited functions at all.

Hope that helps,

Adam

I have the trial installed and it's giving me the blah blah "requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_lin_4.4.so to be installed by the site administrator." So I try to install it into php.ini, and it won't start unless I remove it. From what I've heard, the eaccellerator is the problem.

My PHP scripts run fine w/out eaccellator, but they just run better with it :-)

I'll monkey around with things and see if I can get it to work.

We've got them all running on some of my boxes, but for ioncube, usually just having the loaders in the installed path of the script that needs them will work. Have you tried that?

Agreed on eaccelerator...had an x-cart install that was running poorly until we installed that. Now it flies.

I tried putting the loaders in the same path and got the same error. Threw them around a bit more and it didn't help. It still couldn't find them. I'll play with a bit more and see, as this is the only thing I have on this entire server that needs Ioncube, so I'll see if I can get them to work on runtime.

Thanks!
