WHMCS and ZenCart

Lucianp

Question

Hi, I am new to building shopping carts and payment module integration so please excuse what may seem obvious to many of you.

I have a client currently using a certain shopping cart powered by WHMCS. They are not happy with their host providers service and wants to move over to my hosting service. I had already built him a new site using ZenCart as the shopping cart when he told me he wanted to integrate his existing payment system (WHMCS) into the new site.

Questions.

  1. is WHMCS compatible with ZenCart? ZenCart comes pre-loaded with other payment options such as Authorize and PayPal. I want to use WHMCS instead of these. Is it possible to integrate an API or module?
  2. It seems my client originally signed up to the payment system through his current host so I assume the license is held by the current host. is that correct and would my client need to re-sign?
  3. I don't necessarily want control over payment modules and prefer the client to sign up themselves. I personally think it would be too much hassle. What are the pro's and con's of this? how do others do it?
  4. If the client has ownership of the payment module, would I still be able to set it up and configure it on Zencart apart from the personal details?
  5. Lastly, the question I should have asked first, does anyone else use WHMCS with ZenCart?

thanks
