You will need to configure WHMCS so that it can communicate with your WHM and domain reseller accounts. Once it is correctly configured, you can tell WHMCS to automatically create your clients hosting account and automatically register their domain as soon as they have paid you.

WHMCS automates most things for you.

Thank you Allistair...So the billing is external to the WHM, but does connect with it via a script or something? Does it matter then, which domain the billing system is installed in, as long as the domain belongs to the administrator of the reseller space?

Many thanks!

WHMCS handles the billing and automatic setup - you just need to setup your server details within WHMCS so that it can automatically create hosting accounts.

It does not need to be on the same domain - so if your reseller account is http://www.reseller.com - you can install your WHMCS system on http://www.my-web-hosting-company.com .

Have you taken advantage of the free trial? I would recommend using it and having a play around. If you manage to configure your free trial exactly how you want it, you can simply purchase a licence key and enter it without needing to re-install WHMCS and loose your settings.

Hey Alistair...

I've gotten the package installed and now all I get is a white page on log in. I found an article in the knowledge base about adding a line of code to the config file in order to show the php error, but I guess things are so messed up even that doesn't work :( I have a full package btw, courtesy of my hosting company. And I can get to something called a portal page....though its unclear to me if the 'portal page' is the company's or if it is part of what I installed on my server.

I'd be grateful for any ideas you might have.

Hello,

The white page could suggest a number of problems. It may be best to contact WHMCS directory for help with this.

The portal page is part of what you installed on the server. It's one of 2 templates that are included with WHMCS (I like the portal template :D ).
