Proteus
I just thought I'd let everyone know that JustHost.com is a horrible reseller hosting company. I have had issues on a daily basis for a couple of months now, and they deny that my accounts go offline for more than 0.1% of the time. The tech support for this company is also awful, and most of their chat support staff are jaded because, as one of them has admitted to me over the phone, they offer a horrible service and they are basically swamped with support tickets for all kinds of problems. The support staff absolutely abhor questions about why services are down, other than the standard one liner: "the server is down due to an unforseen problem / maintenance." I will be switching hosts to another company the second I get a chance! Any suggestions? What does everyone think of HostGator reseller accounts? Any other option in that price range ($25/month?). DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH JUSTHOST.COM
jeremyhaber
When I first tried justhost reselling I saw right from the get go that their service was not what I needed. I know your frustration and sorry to hear you went through that. This just goes to show just because a host is well known does not mean they are good. Don't just hinder yourself by looking at the big companies. I find the smaller companies to be more friendly and supportive of their customers. For $25/mo you maybe able to find a cheap VPS, which if you are going to do hosting is always better then any reseller you can ever get.
No1Servers
Sounds like they are very bad! Also sounds very familiar to Hosting24... Don't even bother looking at them, used to be on reseller with them, nothing but downtime and DNS issues! <<removed>>

hostingguy
For those who don't know, JustHost has been bought by EIG (Endurance International Group) over a year ago. EIG also owns iPage, iPower, Netfirms and Bizland among others. The company also bought Bluehost and Hostmonster recently but they kept the same technology and support staff. I guess the countdown to Bluehost / Hostmonster's meltdown has started. EIG has a track record of buying big hosting companies and sinking them.

It's really strange how some of the biggest companies are owned by a small number of people/companies.

I can see it coming now... Sometime in the future the headlines will read Federal Trade Commission Looks Into Merger of the Two Largest Hosting Companies in the USA. Eric Seiler
I've been a Justhost.com customer for a while. I mean, they are definitely a low-cost provider . Do you get what you pay for? Pretty much, but you aren't paying enough to get top-notch support, or any real problem-solving on their end. In terms of minimizing overall cost while getting your feet wet in the hosting biz? Maybe they aren't the worst choice there, but no one should be hosting any serious e-commerce applications on a shared server anyway (IMO), which means you wouldn't choose Justhost to begin with.
