Customer Signup

Question

Hello,

I have a question in regards to the customer signup process using this system.. Is there anyway to make customer signup not required? I currently am running so a customer just comes to my website, makes a purchase with no sign up required (digital products), and then they are emailed a username/password to login with to view their previous orders, etc.

This is a possibility with WHMCS?

I tend to agree, customers goes to cart, proceeds to checkout, creates account, and then makes payment

You need their account details for Domain Name registration, if applicable

If there is no Domain Name registration, then you could create your own form and then transfer the order manually, but the whole point of WHMCS is to automate the entire process

I don't believe any cart software out there really does that. The whole point of any shopping cart is to make sales with minimal fraud. Collecting user information is essential for preventing fraud.

A solution like you want should probably be custom built to your specific needs.

Personally I use WHMCS to sell my software and it is working out great. It does all the processing of sales and prevents downloads for people who are not approved by the system. There is a little bit of work involved with fraud protection but it is worth it :)

Not to mention the licensing software really helps protect my products ;)

It sounds like WHMCS is not suitable for what you want. You use WHMCS to manage your clients like Sitepearl said.

Our shopping cart allows people to customers to checkout as a guest without requiring registration. A number of other shopping carts have similar features. Maybe look at normal shopping carts that support guest check out.

Th OP states

they are emailed a username/password to login with to view their previous orders, etc.

so he has to manually create an account for the guest to be able to give them a username and password to get the order and order details, but WHMCS will do this automatically .
