EZ-CONCEPT
I was re-installing my server completely to implent RAID1 on our servers.. anyway, I completely imported the original database to my new OS install and downloaded WHMCS v4.4.2. My previous install was v4.3 so that I must do a upgrade. As per wiki's instruction I navigated to my admin dir where I simply see a white, blank page. (When I try to go straight to my client area, "An upgrade is currently in progress" is shown as expected). I tried to set error_reporting to 6143 and $display_errors=true, but I still don't even see a error message! I really need help on how to troubleshoot the issue. Any ideas?
Sitepearl
Is your new installation CHMODDed correctly?
Alistair
Did you complete the installation and delete the install folder as prompted? Did you also download the correct v.4.4.2 zip file? (i.e. NOT the incremental one)?
othellotech
you need to install 4.3 then restore your db then update / restore your config file *then* do the upgrade
EZ-CONCEPT
Is your new installation CHMODDed correctly? If you mean 777, I does. I actually tried to chmod EVERY single file & directory (including the templates_c which is out-of-htdocs dir) Did you complete the installation and delete the install folder as prompted? Did you also download the correct v.4.4.2 zip file? (i.e. NOT the incremental one)? Huh? Complete the installation and delete the install folder? I'm upgrading.. you need to install 4.3 then restore your db then update / restore your config file *then* do the upgrade Alright.. I am pretty lazy I must say.. will try this now..
Alistair
Upgrade Steps To upgrade your WHMCS System, simply follow the instructions below. Begin by taking a backup of your database using a tool such as phpMyAdmin Now download the latest WHMCS version either from our client area (http://wiki.whmcs.com/Upgrading#Downloading_the_Latest_Version) or from the provider of your license Next, unzip the contents of the WHMCS zip file download to a folder on your computer Remove the /images/logo.jpg file to avoid overwriting your customised logo Upload the files to your existing installation folder overwriting any existing files Visit the admin area as you normally would to login and you should then see the upgrade script Accept the license agreement Confirm you have backed up your database and click the upgrade button Once the updates finish, delete the install folder from your server The upgrade is now completed but remember to update your custom template with any new or changed template files as listed below. Did you do all that?
EZ-CONCEPT
Did you do all that? I did not "Upload the files to your existing installation folder overwriting any existing files" but rather uploading to a new setup.
Alistair
Huh? Complete the installation and delete the install folder? I'm upgrading.. I did not "Upload the files to your existing installation folder overwriting any existing files" but rather uploading to a new setup. You are either upgrading or carrying out a new install, I don't know which. But whatever you were aiming for, did you follow the instructions provided with the download?
