WHMCS iPhone PUSH Notifications!

Recommended Posts

We have two separate WHMCS installs each wit their own iWHMCS plugin. Would this still work with a single Prowl account?

When you register on Prowl you get a username, password & API Key.

When you download the App to your iPhone you login with your username & password. This will assign your iPhone to that account & API Key.

With that API Key, you then put that into the WHMCS installs you have and it will send it to the devices connected to that account.

So you could have one account, one API Key and two WHMCS Installs. Prowl WHMCS will then send alerts from BOTH WHMCS Installs if you set the same API key in both of the WHMCS Installs... Sounds complicated but it's not, honestly :)

Prowl have released a new parameter into their API & this allows us to redirect to other Apps & URLs when you receive a notification. I'll look at implementing this tonight, along with the new ProwlPHP Library, which looks rather good! I shall report back! :)

Also, new version of Prowl is available on the App Store now! Allows for Clear All alerts which is useful.

I have implemented the new ProwlPHP Library & this also allows for multiple Prowl API Keys... up to five.

I can't find anywhere any mention of the URL Field in the ProwlPHP Library, and I don't want to modify it myself because I want it to be upgradable in the future without hacking it again. It's a library for a reason.

But yeah, I have adapted the module to fit with the new library & allow for up to FIVE API KEYS!

It also allows for optional error logging & activity logging, aswell as a provider key if you have one. I will release it later today :)

After only just realising the code is open source, I've checked and the module doesn't currently support notification when a client replies, However i've now coded it in, I will send this over to josh when i next speak to him and he can include it in his next release if he wants :)

Cheers

Liam

Hi, sory for the late reply. Was away for a few days.

I've never used a provider key myself. You don't need to use it unless you are planning on sending over 1000 push notifications an hour. If you're getting that many new orders an hour, you'll be laughing ;)

If you are going to use it though, you'll need to apply for one on prowlapp.com and then input it into WHMCS. If not, leave that field blank.

Regards,

Josh

Thank you for your answer.

It is not working for me, I don't understand why. I had previoulsly filled up the provider key on prowl because it was the only place I saw "Application name".

I have removed the provider key and now I'm only using the API Key. It is working if I'm sending an email to the API Email but when opening a new ticket in WHMCS I do not received any notification on my IPhone.

The only setting I do not understand is Application name, do I only put the "note" field I have in my API Key on prowl website.

Thanks for your help!
