Amish1
I was attempting to change the logo size on the PDF of my invoices and opened the invoicepdf.tpl file and includes/tcpdf.php files. I changed nothing and closed them and now the download to PDF buttons just returns a page full of symbols. Thank you in advance for any assistance.
bear
You probably corrupted them either with the editor or uploading it. Upload a fresh copy. What were you using to edit it, and how?
Amish1
Thanks for you quick response bear! I was using Dreamweaver 8 to view it. I used filezila and selected view/edit. Where can I get fresh copies? I am not sure that we ad it backed up (but we will now!)
bear
Open the WHMCS download and get it there. If you don't still have an unedited copy, download it from the client area and keep that unchanged for cases like this. DW isn't an issue for edits, usually, but be careful about allowing it to autocorrect or autocomplete tags. That's not desirable in templates. Potentially Filezilla didn't recognize the format and moved or edited it as BINARY or something. It's plain text, so should be moved as ASCII only.
Amish1
Thank you bear! That worked just fine. The tcpdf.php file was the corrupted file. I have never had any problem editing php files in this manner before. Now I know what to check first the next time I mess something up. =)
bear
Brilliant! When I was first starting out many years ago I recall editing PERL scripts using Windows Notepad and wondering why it was producing errors. Took ages to find out that app is crapp for editing. Uploading was another issue occasionally, and I'd been using WS_FTP pro for years (moved off to Van Dyke's SecureFX and Shell app), as it almost always got the type correct and was configurable. Check Filezilla settings to see if you can specify what to do automatically for tpl files.
