Offline Credit Card Help

Recommended Posts

Okay, I am having some issues with the "Offline Credit Card" payment method.

I recently activated that feature in my WHMCS (I did no configuration, so that might be it :?) and tested it out with my card. It gave my account the money on WHMCS, but it did not appear on my bank statement, and it also said the invoice I just payed was still unpaid.

Does anyone know of anything I did wrong?

Thanks in advance

Offline credit card doesn't interact with any payment processor. Using this method, you gather the CC information and "process it off line" by using your merchant account manually. The only way the payment will go to your bank is if you've set up a payment gateway and that deposits the money it charges on your behalf.

I don't know of any free ones.

For credit card payments, we're using Google Check out, Paypal, 2CO, CDG's Quantum Gateway and have a terminal here in the office to manually run charges as well. The first three have no monthly fees, taking a percentage of the sale, the last two are roughly $10/month after initial signup costs.

You need, first of all, a merchant account. Your bank should be able to suggest one, or even help arrange it. They typically offer more than one way to accept cards if approved, call in or swipe terminal. We get walk-ins here, so went for the swipe terminal, which allows for manual and 'card present' charges.

There are almost certainly fees to get running, especially if you get the terminal. They're kind of pricey, usually.
