After 12 years in the hosting business using paid control panels (cPanel & Hsphere) I am about to build a server cluster from the ground up using an OPEN SOURCE CP. Furthermore, because I like WHMCS so much, I am going to start from the position that WHMCS is the requirement and the CP must fit it rather than the other way around.

With that in mind I ask...What is (or would be) your preferred open source control panel?

Thank you!

I have been thinking about doing this as well, since cPanel doesn't support (or refuse to, in spite of numerous requests for it over the past few years) proper clustering.

Webmin does support clustering to some degree, but it's not user friendly. At all. End users who are not computer literate won't enjoy Webmin much.

What can the other CP's do in terms in clustering?

I've used webmin in the past for projects then also ran my WHMCS site off of virtualmin pro for awhile. Unless it's changed I think the clustering that Webmin does is not what you think it is.

Again if my memory is correct it's more like sharing user accounts and not load-balancing or redundancy. But it's been awhile.

HTH's a bit.
