Free trial mod - exclude hosting spaces which have pending upgrade invoice

I'm using free trial addon module to WHMCS which handles free trial periods. Now I want to modify it a little in a way that if some user will order upgrade to full hosting plan then free trial mod cron hook will skip this free trial hosting account during removing free accounts check. This can be done by adding some predefined text in Notes column in tblhosting table and make check for this phrase in trial account removal cron job ("PendingUpgrade"). Very ofter my customers are upgrading their trial accounts at the end of trial and they receive invoices giving them additional 14days for payment and in this time I must check manually everyday if user odered upgrade and he will pay in next few days (probably). Can someone point me direction which hook should I use and how I can modify tblhosting table during package upgrade order placement?
