Hi guys,

I've had a few really annoying orders come through in the last few days that appear to be fraudulent to take up our 30 day trial option.

Can you please advise if I delete the client off whmcs - will these automatically delete their account on whm?

Your assistance would be appreciated.

How is everyone else handling bogus free trial sign ups?

Hi Frank,

So are you saying that I should always Terminate an account first? Would this automatically delete the customer from whmcs?

Can you please clarify the procedure.

Also - i was wondering how are you dealing with annoying customers who are signing up for a free trial but are entering fake details?

You need to go into the hosting service in whmcs, and click the "Terminate" button.. Then you can go back to the client details and "Delete" the account if you wish.

We do not have that problem as we do not offer free trials. Free trials are just asking for fraudsters to signup for your service. Better option is to offer a money back guarantee for the service.

Our procedure for dealing with scum is:

# Terminate the service - takes it off your servers

# Ban the order IP (and any they logged in from) - stops them trying a different account

# Close the client - stops them logging in

# Change the order status to fraud - for tracking and reporting purposes

# Refund the account (if paid) and set the invoice status accordingly
