SolusVM controls for WHMCS

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

Background info: This system is based on you having access to the SolusVM control panel but not having access to the SolusVM master. If you have access to the SolusVM master, you still may be interested in this for your clients if you wish to offer a "soft" reseller program.

The situation that this was developed under was that my company does not offer any form of reselling of our VPS. If a client orders more than one VPS from us, it will always end up under the same SolusVM account. The client wanted to be able to keep this access, but allow their clients to perform basic actions on their VPSs. This script allows this and best of all, they will be none the wiser of who your provider is.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have developed a system based off the back of the SolusVM client API (with PHP,HTML & jQuery) which allows your clients to boot/shutdown/reboot (and view the status) of their VPS. This give you the ability to give your clients some power over the VPS while you retain full control. This is great for resellers who want to offer a white labeled solution. I currently have it deployed with a few VPS and it works very well.

A considerable amount of time has gone into the script and if there is more interest, I will invest more time to refine it and add an admin area etc... before releasing it.

Please could you reply if you would be interested in the script, if you have any feature ideas and if you have any thougts on licensing (I usually release my mods free of charge, but I'm considering releasing it as a commercial add-on (nothing hugely expensive if I do) ).

All the best.

Ben Harris

Thanks for the interest gs-liam (and also to the people who PM'd me). I just thought that I would post a few screen shots of the admin area so far (below). Let me know what you think or if you have any feature requests.

Kind Regards

Ben Harris

Hi Benoit & gs-liam,

Before I release it, I would like a few other users to test it. If you would be interested in testing it, please pop me a mail to ben {at} primexeon {dot} com (with the subject "SolusVM Beta Tester", and a few lines about yourself/company, how many SolusVM VPS you have resold etc.. in the body). I'm only opening this opportunity to three users, and it will be on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Thanks for the interest guys.

Regards

Ben Harris

Thanks for the reply's Hitakashi & apignard.

NICE!, i was never able to use the solusVM-WHMCS addon since i needed a SolusVM admin, Looks amazing. Too bad it's paid. But for people that use solusvm they'll love it. Nice job.

Hitakashi - Whilst I will be releasing it commercially, I have no intention to sell it for a huge amount of money. It's not finalised yet, but it will probably be around £12 per year for a single license with up-to a 50% discount on bulk (10+) purchases.

I have 1 beta slot left if there are any takers. The beta will begin on the 22nd August.

Kind Regards

Hi,

I'm interested in beta testing the script. We use SolusVM for offering VPS hosting and I think this is a great idea.

Hi Everyone,

Just to keep all who are interested in the loop, I've just released the initial version to a few testers. Assuming that all goes well, I should be releasing it to the public soon! I have one testing license remaining if anyone else would like to have a play with it before its public release. Please pop me a mail to ben at primexeon dot com if interested.

Regards

Ben

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for all of your interest and support. This is now available as a public release here https://www.primexeon.com/clients/cart.php?gid=28

All beta licenses will expire on the 1st November 2010 (45 days from today).

The latest version (1.2-release) contains a few bug fixes. There are no major changes in the next release.

Kind Regards

Ben Harris

Doesn't look like API credentials are autofilled or anything? :(

Since the system uses the client API, the only way to do this would be using an unofficially supported route (aka using cURL to login to the SolusVM Master). Saying that, we are working on it. I can't say if it will ever reach a release build, but once we are happy that it is stable, we may release it.

Terrible support,

purchased this addon, doesn't work it doesn't show any of my clients VPS on summary tab either. I talked to Ben and he said hell get back to me, its been a week, where I then replied again and asked for support. Now 3 days after waiting for another reply still nothing.

Will be filing for a dispute, item comes under misrepresentation/not working.

Andrew, As I informed you in the support ticket (before leaving), I was going on holiday for a week where I would have no internet connection when your problem was unsolved. As such, I was not able to reply to your ticket. Upon my return on the 13th July, I came back to see that you had left a number of support ticket replies and this reply here. In order to resolve your concerns, I offered to extend your license one month for free and also offered to provide you with a full refund should you want it as it was indeed not working correctly on your server.

Your problem appeared to be with the licensing class which is provided by WHMCS with their licensing module, although to pin down the problem exactly, I had prepared a debug version of the product just for you so that we could get to the bottom of the problem.

Two days after my ticket reply, we have received no reply to the ticket and you have filed a PayPal dispute against us. I will proceed to provide you with a refund now, although in future, you may find that working with other businesses will actually work out better for you.

I wish you all the best in the future.

Regards

Can anyone give me the code for WHMCS v5 Default template?

This is for the v4 portal template:

{if $SVMC.enabled}
{$SVMC.js}
<tr>
	<td class="fieldarea">{$SVMC.serveractions}:</td>
	<td>{$SVMC.buttonstatus} {$SVMC.buttonboot} {$SVMC.buttonshutdown} {$SVMC.buttonreboot}</td>
</tr>

<tr>
	<td class="fieldarea">{$SVMC.serverstatus}:</td>
	<td id="serverstatus"></td>
</tr>
{/if}

I need this but for the v5's default template.
