Hello all,

I am currently Developing a new server module for the Best Control Panel (Hsphere) ..... thanks for Matt for the template module . if any one have SOAP knowledge contact me .

I am still thinking about realising it as addon for WHMCS ... Haven`t discused yet with matt will it be for free for WHMCS users or as Paid Module.

Great to hear!!!!

Yes I'm biased too... Hsphere is the "Best Control Panel " :-D

We use Hsphere and are about to purchase WHMCS. Tieing the two together would be awesome and we would be willing to pay for such a module as long as it was kept uptodate with latest Hsphere changes.

What features were you hoping to add into the server module? Or are you planning of making use off every aspect of Hsphere as per the built-in billing component of Hsphere? With WHMCS talking to Hsphere, it will give us back the full automation but with a far superior billing system.

Unfortunately we are "SOAPless", but if it means paying someone else to do it.. eg Matt, then we are all ears!!! :-)

I wonder if the guys at Psoft would help us out for a small fee?

Hmmm...with the limitations of the Hsphere billing system, perhaps Matt and Psoft could come to some arrangement. I'm pretty sure a lot of Hsphere users would Jump to WHMCS if it were an addon.

Cheers,

Paul

I agree, I have a few different brands running, one which is a pretty large H-Sphere cluster, and I'd like to have WHMCS take care of it..heck I'd be willing to pay for a 100% working module for it (including all the functions of the built-in h-sphere billing system)

Networkegypt, are you planning on being able to use WHMCS to bill for individual items as per the Hsphere billing system?

An example would be:

- The customer has the full abliity to add a feature to their hosting plan via Hsphere.

- We wish to bill a customer for Extra mySQL databases at $1 each.

- Will Hsphere then let WHMCS know of the upgrade and add it to the customers Invoice?

I understand that this may get complicated but ultimately that's the sort of thing we we would like to be able to do.

Cheers,

Paul

That's what I meant in my post :) H-sphere's billing system strength is in it's ability to charge for every item, and add it onto the monthly fee, or invoice, along with activating it within the cluster for the client.

Awesome!

That's exactly what we were hoping to do too. :-D

Are you or Matt planning on charging for the Module or will it be a freebie?

Cheers,

Paul

EDIT: Ooops....just realised that dbmv was the replier not networkegypt so this post may well be invalid

you can add the items as addons and then create them . beacuse the template module where matt suplied me have limited functions .. so we i have to return back to matt to check with him what can we do

I have nothing to do with this module at the current time so all pricing/questions/support would be down to the user creating it.

Matt . you are one of the MOst ever helpers i have seen :) and sure i will not release it without your permission

networkegypt, I think what Matt was suggesting there was that the "module project" is something you are doing and is not his. So it is entirely upto you regarding what or how you price the module or support it. :-)

Cheers,

Paul

Hi again,

How are you progressing with this? I have recently setup the Hsphere API and got things working via a remote web page talking to the Hsphere database. I am however stuck (maybe a bit like yourself) with the PHP/SOAP side of things and getting meaningful data from the database.

Are you able to provide me with a basic template of the PHP you have managed to get working so far? If you dont wish share the php/classes/code I understand. :-)

Cheers,

Paul

Any progress? I have a client who is interested in this and wants to buy WHMCS, but will not if h-Sphere is not supported.

HSphere is not supported for billing/deployment/control/automation out of the box

We've a draft "billing engine replacement" to allow WHMCS to be used instead of the "interesting" charge/statement system built into HSpshere, but our plan is largely to scrap hsphere now and are rapidly moving people off it - it's a dead product since paralosers bought psoft out.

Dead product? two releases in six months makes it more active than any other control panel on the market. Not to mention the fact that H-Sphere has had more patch and package availability than any other panel.

Dead? Nope. Parallels finally realizing that Plesk sucks and finally looking at H-Sphere as the way forward? sure looks like it :)

P.S: My company have been using and supporting H-Sphere since the beginning. This is the most active development period ever in H-Sphere history.

Dead? Nope. Parallels finally realizing that Plesk sucks and finally looking at H-Sphere as the way forward? sure looks like it

But Parallels aren't actively promoting it.

Hmmmm... do this... http://www.parallels.com/products/

Hsphere is not on that page but rather listed (in the drop down menu!) under "More Products".

Ok, now let's say you do find out about Hsphere on this page: http://www.parallels.com/products/hsphere/

Now read the bit at the bottom of that page...

H-Sphere provides a single easy-to-understand platform, while Parallels Business Automation and Plesk provide specialized software systems with larger development teams and robust product roadmaps. We recommend Plesk as the platform for future business growth.

So, according to Parallels' own web site, Hsphere is NOT the way forward instead of Plesk!

Not to mention the RIDICULOUS prices they are now charging for NEW customers to even start to use Hsphere. See: http://www.parallels.com/store/hsphere/ . Going by our "owned" license price (no longer available!) it would cost us FIVE times more to run if we now leased it instead! Would we buy Hsphere as a NEW customer? No way!

Finally...

Future product plans will be largely customer driven and will focus on integration with other Parallels hosting products.

If Hsphere is not actively promoted then how on earth will sales increase? If sales don't increase, how much longer will Parallels keep supporting it, especially if customers using it declines?

The product is great, the future of Hsphere on the other hand, is anyone's guess.

The day we see Hsphere promoted as a real alternative to Plesk by Parallels will be the day we will more confident it actually has a future.

Cheers,

Paul
