Quotation questions

Recommended Posts

I've just had my first experience of using the quotation module and have some comments/questions.

1. If I choose one of my plans from the drop-down list, the price that is entered is the monthly fee. I would expect the setup fee would be the figure used on the quotation as that's what would be charged for a new account setup?

2. Nowhere on the quotation does it allow me to specify whether I want to bill the client monthly or annually, and thus what amount should be used on the quotation. If the client thinks the figure quoted is annual, when in fact it's monthly this could lead to a big argument when it comes to invoicing time! It would be good if having selected the product, another drop-down gave a list of the possible billing periods configured for that product, and then entered the corresponding price.

3. Following on from #2, when the quotation is converted to an invoice, and the account created, what is the billing cycle set to?

4. It's annoying that tax isn't added by default. We tax everything we sell, so having to set it manually each time is a PITA.

5. The ability to add product line items without keep saving the form would be welcome.

Regards

Neil

  • 1 month later...

Hi

I have the same issue: right now the quote form apparently does not let me specify the annual hosting plan I have, which boils down to 2months and domain free for annual paymen. Any way to solve this, will it need a fix in a next version ?

Thanks.
