  1. So, I'm way behind the times and have a very stable version of WHMCS 4.4.2 running, but I want to get everything up to speed for the new year. Are there any issues with downloading the latest version and doing a manual update over such an older version? Can I simply follow the tutorial video for manual updates and have it work OK over my version, or do I need to do some incremental version updates to get there? I don't want to start touching anything until I know I'm safe. Thanks, Dan
  2. Hi there, I have 5 pricing programs set up in my WHMCS. I have a new big affiliate that is promoting us with a 50/50 plan. Pretty simple. However, this affiliate wants to have their referrals to our programs pay only 50% of the going price for the first 3 months, then revert to the normal price. How do I take my existing programs for this affiliate, and set up a pricing scheme just for this affiliate so that all their referrals get half off the regular price for the first 3 months? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dan
  3. Hi there, I'm still new to WHMCS but I'm liking it so far and it's working well for what I need. I want to set up a promotion code where the user gets free service from us because they were sent over from a strategic partner. As long as they are a customer with our strategic partner they will receive free service from us. If they leave our strategic partner, then I want the ability to remove the promotional discount from their account so they begin being billed each month. I've set up a promotion code with 100% discount and then I ran through the sign up process and input the code. It works fine, but since it is a 100% discount, the signup process skips the part that asks for credit card information (figuring it doesn't need it I guess). If I change the discount to 99%, then I am presented with the credit card information page. I want to be able to capture the CC information so if we ever need to start billing them we can do so. Is there a way to provide 100% discount promotion AND still capture the credit card information when they sign up?
  4. Hi there, I have sort of a newbie question regarding how a possible affiliate program might work for us. We are using the WHMCS billing software to handle our signups and that is working fine. We are starting to get some regular customer signups and everything seems to have processed properly. We now want to institute an affiliate program where other people can help promote our site/services and then receive a revenue sharing type payment. The WHMCS software does seem to provide for setting up all of the mechanisms for running an affiliate program. My question, is when an affiliate refers a customer to our site and then they sign up and pay, how do we handle the logistics of paying our affiliates their ongoing percentage? I mean the credit gets processed through Quantum/CDG fine and apparently gets deposited into our bank account, but is there a way that handles issuing monies to our affiliates? How do people using WHMCS handle issuing payouts to their affiliates? How would this work? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
