  1. yes - I agree - I will look at trying to authorise using the stored password. If that doesnt authorise (i.e. this is the first time or the customer has actually gone to Entica and changed password) then I will ask the customer for the password and save it - then go back to do the authorisation again. I am also moving to aussiehq I think for the future - as soon as I can spend the time to bring my system fully live Jim
  2. Yes I did - and it was all working, but suddenly Enetica have changed the completed AU domains report that showed the passwords per domain. Unfortunately the Enetica API requires you to have the domain password for any management activity. I used to get it from that report using Curl and then store the password if authentication failed (handles first time manage and if customer actually changes it through Enetica directly. I have asked support why this was changed - but I can guess the answer - security so I am now looking at how to get around this - maybe setting a standard password (not real secure) or having to ask customer to add in the domain password as part of the request - maybe a "we dont have that password on file - please enter the password that you received from the initial registration of if you have updated the password" then store it what do you think ?
  3. and that is fine if you want to setup a cpanel account for all domains you want to offer dns management to. We want to offer dns management as a service and really do not want to have to have the overhead of a cpanel for each client for their domains. Using 11.25 dns management works fine for hosted clients but not if they simply want management Jim
  4. I have a version developed and "working". It will update dns for a domain in WHM/cpanel via a WHMCS module. It is clunky and it suffers from a fundamental issue that is related to the JSON/XML API. Every line that is updated results in a reload of Bind for that domain . So it you delete two lines and add a line that would be three restarts with the associated time Also the way I am integrating it is a bit clunky - in effect front ending the whmcs dns manager and checking to see if it is my dns and if not then transferring control back to WHMCS.Don't know if anyone else has worked this one further than this ? Jim
  5. yep, got it working - but there is some clunkiness around redirects that I am not real happy about - but rest all works (registration, renewal, transfers, nameservers, email redirects - not DNS as I cant get any sot of DNS api going with Enetica) - needs documenting though. I have a cron job that updates the expiry dates each day and emails results etc. Will do some work on documentationa dn then let you test so you can tell me if the clunkiness is worth it Jim
  6. Hi, I need to put together fresh terms and conditions / privacy policy for domains and hosting and was wondering if anyone knew of any generic ones posted anywhere that I could use as a base ? cheers jim
  7. found problem - needed to add domainid to end of url - not domain ciao all Jim
  8. I am writing a dns module and I want, in some circumstances to break off to the standard WHMCS program (eg I dont support that particular registrar or control panel). I tried to do something like : header( 'Location: clientarea.php?action=domaindns' ) ; exit; but I get a "Unauthorized Access Attempt" is there a way to do this and retain integrity (use sessid etc ?) cheers Jim
  9. Is anyone successfully using the Aussiehq domain management and email forwarding ? When I have tried it in test mode it doesn't seem to show the existing DNS or the existing forwarders - just shows a single input area to add more Anyone using this ok so I can then assume there is something wrong with my version ? cheers Jim
  10. yep - agreed - have recently gotten his quote and invoice pdf - highly recommended Jim
  11. it's an admin parameter - not for end users - just admin to set it - but it looks like if you change it then it resets all passwords Jim
  12. yes - it's a parameter in Admin/Setup/Security With a statement: "This is not recommended as passwords can be decrypted (Disabling this resets all clients passwords)" Jim
  13. it's a case of putting a table to cover the output in configuredomains.tpl. Take a look at the configuredomains.tpl that you use (depends which orderforms template you are using). In the one I use I looked for: {foreach key=domainfieldname item=domainfield from=$domain.fields} {$domainfieldname}: {$domainfield}<br /> {/foreach} and I replaced with: <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"> {foreach key=domainfieldname item=domainfield from=$domain.fields} <tr><td>{$domainfieldname}: </td><td>{$domainfield}</td><td> </td></tr> {/foreach} </table> that tidied it up nicely Jim
  14. I was trying to save myself time in comparing everything - the key answer that I got from Matt will do that for me - no template changes. Now I need to update just the modules that are shown in the 4.0 to 4.1 upgrade Wiki Jim
  15. Just want a list of changed modules/templates - should only be a few in the full module from the beta - I am quite comfortable with re-installing, but have made a number of changes in the system and want to make sure my changes don't impact on needed upgrades. I could certainly do the compare but would have expected that anyone who went through the beta would also like to know the differences and why would we re-invent the wheel and all do the comparison ? cheers Jim
  16. that gives upgrade from 4.0 to 41. - not 4.1 Beta to 4.1 - i am using 4.1 beta and would like to upgrade from there cheers Jim
  17. is there a changelog to go from 4.1 beta to 4.1 full release so I know which modules/templates have changed and thus only have to do selective upgrade ? cheers Jim
  18. Hi, in my system I have all of the TLD's that I have opened up in the system to use - it's a dropdown list Jim
  19. Hi, hope someone can assist on this. What needs to be in the cron sync job for a new registrar module ? I am supposing: 1. update expiry date in WHMCS to match registrar 2. set next due date to be "n" days before renewal date ? 3. update the status based on active or expired 4. update transfer status any other things cheers Jim
  20. we would also be very interested in getting this and contributing to the costs as well cheers Jim
  21. further question - there isnt a sep entry point for the URL Redirects (WHMCS assumes that this is handled within the DNS area - ie the way that ENOM does it). So how would you feel about this being done that was or should we look at a small additional module and then modify the template to call that rather than restricting to the rather clunky ENOM way ?)
  22. so does the colleaugethen simply use his email address in the accounts he sets up to make sure all communication (invoices etc) comes to him - but all else is in the clients name ? If so how does the client register help desk calls ? Jim
  23. I reckon it looks really good - clean and bright - nice one Jim
  24. Hi, does anyone know of a way to update the meta data at enom for a domain that you url frame redirect - ie title, description, keywords. You can do it at enom but I cant see how to do it via WHMCS ? I an see how to set the url framed redirect but not the other bits cheers Jim
  25. Hi, I am trying to get my head around something. I have a colleague who wants to work with me. He wants to manage a series of clients and basically hold their hands (they have asked him to handle the intricacies of the domain and internet for them). He would signup for them, register domains for them, setup their hosting accounts, manage their billing and payments etc. He would charge them a premium over our rates and would pocket the difference between our standard rates and what he charges - paying us for what is used. Now I know that he could be the customer and set all this up in his account. That way he would get the bills from us and he could act as middleman, paying me and chasing his people. But that then produces issues on getting right information into the contacts etc etc - not insurmountable as he can override these or update these at the time. But he also wants us to provide support - quite reasonable as we are getting full whack for our services Does anyone else have a model like this and how do they manage it so the customer is properly supported, recorded etc and the billing side is done properly? cheers Jim
