  1. Seems I need to add my certificate details so PayPal can decipher the Paypal button on the invoice. Hopefully that will work.
  2. im just adding PayPal Standard to my site and i've set it up in WHMCS. I went to do a test order and it failed. I first had it directed to the invoice to pay, then as per post above, selected the option for the buyer to go direct to the gateway, but in each case, I got the same Paypal message on their page: "The seller accepts encrypted website payments only. You cannot pay the seller through un-encrypted buttons. Please contact your seller for more details." Can anyone tell me what this is? I have also followed the same procedure as Sotoman states above, yet it's not working for me.
  3. Hi there folks I seem to have a conundrum of a problem and was hoping you guys and girls might throw some light on this problem. Basically, I am unable to receive emails from support at whmcs which goes through their ticket system whether I am sending ticket requests from client area or admin area. Now this was working back in early December when they did the install and set-up as we exchanged a few emails over that. I also received an invoice by email from whmcs on 24th December. However on 5th January I opened a ticket for some support, and thought I was getting no replies to that and a 2nd ticket sent. On sending a third I found out I can only view them in my client area but wasnt getting an email alert with the ticket reply so I hadnt realised they were responding to my tickets. My host has checked my mail server and even gone into my mail account and all he found was a slight MX record error which he fixed but that did not fix the email problem I have. whmcs say they are able to send me an email and dont seem to get any error messages at their end when sending. They did a bounce test last night to my info@ email and I received that ok, albeit it was from info@whmcs. Therefore I have concluded that the issue lies in that I cannot receive emails they send via their ticket support system which is sales@whmcs and support@whmcs. Can anyone think of what or where else I can check to resolve this problem? I've run out of ideas and i'm brand new to whmcs so not as familiar with the whole system and if Matt and Joe and my experienced hosting provider (who also uses whmcs) can't think of what is causing this, then you can understand that I doubt I will, so need your help. Any suggestions are worth looking into. The only thing to mention, whether it's of any use, is that I pointed my domian over to my new site on 1st Jan 09 and set up my emails. I cant see how that would affect only whmcs, as I send and receive emails from everyone else on all my emails addresses without any problems. Thanks for reading and any help.
  4. well I cant see it, but my hosting guy is deemed to be knowledge at what he does, not the type to dish out wrong info i wouldnt have thought. am using cPanel. anyway, in FTP, from root directory, I still cant see anything titled /usr/bin either.
  5. oh right that's odd because my hosting provider (who also uses whmcs) told me I could access tt through File Manager or FTP. He has even sent me a tutorial video to access through file manager.
  6. We're just in the middle of integration today, but whmcs have emailed to say that the usr/bib/crontabs permissions are wrong and need changing. Ok so i've gone into File Manager and i've been instructed by my host on how to change the settings, the problem im stuck on is, which file do I change permissions for? in File Manager I select public_html ...but then what do I select after that? There's a whole list of things each with a permission setting, but I just dont know which one to choose that is for usr/bin/crontabs permissions as non are labeled as such and i'm not familiar with this terminology I have asked thre guy at whmcs which file to change permissions for but he doesn't know as they are 'not server techs' - thing is, neither am I!! Thanks for any help on this!
  7. Thanks for the reply, much appreciated. Ref Point 2. Yes that's what I was referring to. I am offering pre-defined packages, but also additional resources ie extra bandwith, additional POP3 emails, mysql, databases, SSL cert, etc. Things they might want to tag on to the pre-defined order or, to be able to come back at a later date to add extra these things.
  8. go to http://www.kksmarts.com for loads of free useful info and demo's on how to get the best out of adwords. No relation or association to me other than through a forum I mod on. Ther are several reasons that can help you get to, and also prevent you from getting to, Google Adwords No. 1 for your chosen phrases. (though I have read that it's beter to be at No. 2 & 3 which have higher conversion rates than No. 1 because people click on the top one out of habit)
  9. Hi I am just about ready to order whmcs and finding out the last few things I need to know so that I am not ill-prepared when it comes to installation! 1. Can I restrict it so that I only receive UK orders? 2. What is the 'configurable package' add-on? What does it do exactly and when might you need this add-on? As anyone got a site I can view this on? 3. If I take up the monthly licence, can I upgrade and buy the full owned licence at any time? Thanks
