Tax Not Showing in 'Order Confirmation' Email
Media Corp. replied to Media Corp.'s topic in Using WHMCS
Ya, for sure. It's simply an Order Confirmation, so I'm not too concerned. What caught my attention was the blank lines between 'Amount' and 'Total Due', which made me think the 'Tax Due' field should be in that space. Thanks for your help, isdoo. If someone can confirm whether or not the 'Tax Due' is 'normally' included in the Order Confirmation email, that would be a big help. Thanks -
Hello, The 'Order Confirmation' email that is automatically sent to clients after they've placed an order is NOT showing the Tax Due. It shows 'Amount' and then a few blank lines, and then the 'Total Due' Like this: ____________________________________________________________ Order Number: 5559827202 Product/Service: Web Hosting - CORPORATE Package (mydomain.com) Billing Cycle: Annually Amount: $260.00 CAD Total: $275.60 CAD You will receive an email from us once your account has been setup. _____________________________________________________________ Is this normal? Should the 'Tax Due' show on the Order Confirmation email? Thanks in advance.

Great! Thanks isdoo.

Can anyone help me with this please?

Hello, We are a Canadian company and therefore charge Federal Tax (GST) on some products. In the General Configuration >Tax Setup, we have created the Tax Rule and named it 'GST'. When we generate an invoice, the Tax Rule Name (GST in this case) is not showing on the invoice. WHMCS is generating the invoice with '6.00% Tax Due:', which is correct, but we need our invoices to read 'GST' and the rate (currently 6.00%). How do we do this? I'm assuming we'll need to edit the phpconfig.php but hopefully there's a simpler solution. Thanks, Derek

I'm using CS3 on a MacBook Pro. It's not auto-cropping. Even with the pink background and the blue circle...the blue circle is really pixelated and looks horrible. I'm going to have to forget about the logo idea. I've created and uploaded a white image that fits the same dimensions as the stock logo (175 x 78px). Now PDF invoices appear to have no logo at all (which will have to do). I wish this worked though. Seems like a very simple concept, but it's broken.
-
If I upload a logo that is a BLUE square with the same dimensions as the included WHMCS logo, it looks as it should. If I upload a logo that is a WHITE square with the same dimensions AND a BLUE circle in the middle, it ends up getting STETCHED so that the BLUE circle matches the dimensions of the stock logo. If I upload that same logo with a pink background (instead of white) it works fine. It seems to be ignoring the white background of the logo and scaling up the blue circle. Weird! So, it seems as though I must use a logo that is the same size as the stock logo, and NOT have whitespace around it. The logo must be coloured. Any thoughts? Thanks, Derek

I've tried by keeping the HEIGHT of the original logo (78px). I simply used a circle with that diameter. I will now try retaining the WIDTH as well. Thanks

Hi there, I am configuring our PDF setup for invoices. All I've done is upload our logo to the /clients/images/ folder with the filename 'logo.jpg' When I create a test invoice, I get a weird format. The logo seems to be stretched to 2-3 times the size it should be. I'm not sure how to include the screenshot (sorry). I then went and made a simple circle in blue at a width and height of 78px (the same height as the default WHMCS logo) and uploaded it. It too blows up and goes in behind that grey bar of the invoice. Have any of you experienced this? I've tried everything and it keeps coming up with this huge, pixelated image. Thanks, Derek I have not made any changes to pdfconfig.php.

LOL Sounds good to me!

Hi Jordan...I believe Trine was the only one who suggested that signup/payment etc would be insecure. webresellers informed me otherwise (as you've confirmed). I just wanted to double-check with the 'pros' and you're answers have confirmed what I thought. WHMCS is fully secured. Connection to cPanel from client area is not (in my case). Thanks again everyone. I'd be lost without you all as a resource. -Derek

This is exactly what we're experiencing. When a client tries to login to their cPanel via their Client Area on our corporate website, the warning (correctly) informs our client that the security certificate of our website (the client area) and the security certificate of the server where their shared hosting is, don't match. This makes sense. I don't think there is any other way to make this work (aside from VPS or Dedicated). They only way, as webresellers suggested, is to disable the Secure Connection for the server configuration in WHMCS. We agree, Trine, that SSL is important. We have a dedicated IP and an SSL installed and WHMCS is running within the cert. The only issue we're experiencing is when a client tries to connect to their cPanel from within our Client Area. With 'Secure Connection' for cPanel DISABLED within our WHMCS system, does this mean client signups/orders/payments are NON-Secure? When I test the system as a client I am still seeing the HTTPS and the locked icon. Your suggestions are very helpful. Thanks again.

Perfect! Thanks so much for the help. I really appreciate it! -Derek

Thanks for the help. That will have to be the way we do it. If I remove the SECURE CONNECTION as you've suggested, does this mean all orders etc via our order form will be non-secure connections? What about credit card processing etc...? I'm new to WHMCS! Thanks again.

We do have our own SSL cert and dedicated IP, which WHMCS is installed on. Our clients are on a Hostgator shared server (the one we are also on). We are not able to get an SSL cert for Hostgator's server are we? Thanks for the help.
-
I was afraid that was the answer. We are a Hostgator reseller and I *thought they had a shared SSL installed on the shared server we are on. Should I talk to Hostgator about this? Thanks ghpk!

Hello, We have a new install of v3.4.0 and it is almost ready to go. While testing the system, I found the following and wonder how to fix it. Details: Logged in as existing Client (test client). Clicked on "My Hosting Packages" in the Client Area. Clicked on button "VIEW DETAILS" Clicked on button "LOGIN TO cPANEL" This is where I get a SECURITY CERTIFICATE warning. I believe this is because our website (the one WHMCS is installed on) is on a shared server (we do have a dedicated IP and an active SSL Certificate), however the warning is coming from the shared server. This must be because the client is moving away from our secure server and logging into their cPanel which is on the shared server. How do I fix this? Thanks in advance, Derek

PHP Mail vs. SMTP Mail - Which do you use?
Media Corp. replied to Media Corp.'s topic in General Discussion
Thanks to everyone who's voted so far. This really helps! -
Hello, We are setting up our new install of WHMCS and would like to know which mail configuration YOU use. We have tried both and realize the 'drawbacks' to each. Your input would be GREATLY appreciated. 1) Which mail config do you use (PHP Mail or SMTP Mail)? 2) Why? 3) What should we be aware of for either? Cheers, Derek

SMTP Mail Settings in WHMCS using cPanel 11
Media Corp. replied to Media Corp.'s topic in Using WHMCS
Then why do Support Tickets (which are configured to use support@mydomain.com) show as from accounts@mydomain.com? So, regardless that the email template for Tickets and the Department are setup to use 'support@mydomain.com', the Client will still see 'accounts@mydomain.com'? This is confusing for clients. How do all of you have yours setup? -
Hi esl, We've chatted (well, you've helped me) on HG forums before. Great to see you here as well! Cheers, Media Corp. (Derek)

SMTP Mail Settings in WHMCS using cPanel 11
Media Corp. replied to Media Corp.'s topic in Using WHMCS
Thanks, Matt. That mostly answer my question. What is the difference (and how should I configure) these two settings: Under General Configuration> General tab, there is a field labeled Email Address with the description 'The default sender email address used for messages sent by WHMCS'. AND Under General Configuration> Mail tab, there is a field labeled System Emails From Email Do these need to match? Do I need to put anything in either of them? Thanks, Derek -
SMTP Mail Settings in WHMCS using cPanel 11
Media Corp. replied to Media Corp.'s topic in Using WHMCS
I have a related question (this has come up since I configured WHMCS to use SMTP mail). Now, when I open a test ticket by emailing 'support@mydomain.com' I get the autoreply AND the ticket shows up in my Support Center. BUT the email auto-replies (and ticket replies from Admin) are coming from 'accounts@mydomain.com' instead of the appropriate ticket department (I have both Sales and Support setup). One thing I find confusing is: Under General Configuration> General tab, there is a field labeled Email Address with the description 'The default sender email address used for messages sent by WHMCS'. AND Under General Configuration> Mail tab, there is a field labeled System Emails From Email What is the difference between the two? And...how do I configure the system to show ticket replies to be coming from the parameters I've defined in the Support Center? This used to work using PHP Mail, but things have changed now that I've setup SMTP mail. UPDATE: When I hit 'reply' to the messages sent from the Ticket Center (this is from the test email I setup), it does show 'support@mydomain.com'. But when I receive messages from the Ticket Center it still shows 'Company Name Support (accounts@mydomain.com)' In other words, piping is still working fine, client and Ticket Center communicating between one another just fine, but Clients see 'Company Name Support <accounts@mydomain.com> when it should show <support@mydomain.com>. When a Client hits 'reply' in their email, the TO: field does show the <support@mydomain.com> (which is correct). Thanks, Derek -
SMTP Mail Settings in WHMCS using cPanel 11
Media Corp. replied to Media Corp.'s topic in Using WHMCS
That solution works perfectly! Thanks MACscr. How did you know this could work? I spent an hour searching forums/manuals and even opened a ticket, but nothing worked. The ticket reply was 'check your password'. Are there 'risks' to setting my system up to be 'localhost'? Any additional information would be REALLY great. Thanks again, Derek -
Hello, I have been digging around but can't find the right answer or I'm missing something altogether. I am a Reseller using cPanel 11 and a new install of WHMCS. I have setup most areas, but just went in to change over from PHPMail to SMTP for system emails since it is 'better' for a few reasons (less blocking by some email providers like Hotmail.). I have set it up like this: Mail Type: SMTP SMTP Port: 25 (I tried 26 as well). SMTP Host: mail.mydomain.com SMTP Username: accounts@mydomain.com (this is an active account) SMTP Password: active password for account above. When I try to send the 'Welcome Email' to a new client (a test account I setup) I get the following error: "There has been an error sending the email." I have tried using Port 26 since this is often the issue, but that has not worked. Everything works fine using PHPMail. Please help! Thanks, Derek
