v5.2.4 here and it does NOT work... Such a shame too...
-
Please show me any other live chat software that shows you your clients details while they are browsing your website? Any other live chat application that allows you to pull up a clients invoices from within the chat application? Before you start raving, have a re-check... They havent said it was a seamless install, thats not how it works, and to be quite frank about it, we would never want the live chat applications files all mixed in with our WHMCS files, its far easier to manage and update in future if they are all in 1 place. It makes absolutely no difference to the users or your customers where its installed at all, the "Seamless" part is in how it integrates with WHMCS.... So, show me another chat application that links in to all the client data while they are browsing your website, as I'd sure like to see one..

why doesn't WHMCS renew expired domains with eNom?
Richie replied to SilverNodashi's topic in Using WHMCS
We dont fiddle with the data, thank you very much. Where exactly do you get a copy of the sync that only reports discrepancies? -
why doesn't WHMCS renew expired domains with eNom?
Richie replied to SilverNodashi's topic in Using WHMCS
I'd say its not a case of WHMCS NOT sending over the renewal, its the "Next due dates" that have been the problem. Our latest in Nov 2009 was billed for 2 years, invoiced, and was paid on time, but for whatever reason, the domain name was ONLY renewed for 1 yr, yet our system still kept its "Next due date" at the 2 yr mark "Nov 2011", thus allowing the domain to expire, and showing the client it still has a year left before it expires. Thats happened several times to us, and we DO have the enom sync script ticked to set "SyncNextDueDate" but for whatever reason, its letting us down and costing a lot of money and red faces... -
why doesn't WHMCS renew expired domains with eNom?
Richie replied to SilverNodashi's topic in Using WHMCS
Your lucky, I've just found the 3rd domain name that our WHMCS system has NOT renewed correctly, and now that domain is in redemption @ $250 cost, when the WHMCS system charged the customer for 2yrs renewal in Nov 2009, but the domain only got renewed for 1yr.. Nothing flagged to tell us, and now its expired... For me, personally, the problems we face with WHMCS, that we always end up finding out about when its too late, are very costly, and this is not the first time this has happened either, I've had domains before that have been billed, and charged to the customer, yet have expired. Looking at the clients domain name, it still has a "Next due date" of Nov 2011, which clearly shows that the sync script isnt working somehow, because if it was, it would have sync'd the domain expiry correctly, and rebilled for its renewal. AAAAHhhhhhhhhhhhh -
Told you already, via email, been there, tried that, didnt work, they wont refund it, saying I have to contact you guys, which I already told you guys via email, and got this exact same response to... Going in circles, getting nowhere, somebody has my £9 though!
-
Thanks, I'm still £9 out of pocket for the iphone app that both Apple nor yourselves seem able to refund? If neither can refund it, who gets the money?
-
Hey guys Has anybody noticed that the TAX office state the country code for Greece is "EL" yet WHMCS label it as "GR", does this cause any problems in VAT reconcilliation or VAT/Tax reports?
-
Thanks John, however I already cancelled & got refunded yesturday by Matt.

Exactly what I was thinking, but wanted to make sure that doing that doesnt wipe out something it shouldnt...

Thanks Rick Anybody know how to email stardevelop, because both the livechat, AND contact form on their website dont look like they work, you fill in your email, give all the info, enter the security code and hit send message, and all that happens is the page refreshes, with all your details still filled in, asking for the security code again.... ?? EDIT: Scratch that, I just noticed after trying to submit the form 4 times, that it does actually show a message, in the same black fonts, ABOVE the form saying email sent.... Boy is that NOT obvious... Anybody / Matt Is there any official uninstall for this to remove any database items it creates upon install?
-
Hi Rick I should indeed have been a lot clearer here, what I mean by free is, you dont have to stump up any cash to find out if its any-good, you can use it, try it for as long as you like, and sure, if you want the branding removed, its a SMALL fee (Half the live help install cost) and its not riddled with branding all over it... I've been using and testing all sorts of scripts for the web over the last 10 years and some of the greatest scripts have often been a micture of both paid for, and free, often the free scripts with paid-for options turn out to be fantastic, and livezilla seems to be one of them, including its desktop application, but also that its brandable, supports webcams too, and is customisable (Did I spell that right?) By years ahead, what I should have said was, they still seem to be years behind, as other chat software I have tried and tested, all allow you to customise your chat software, brand it, remove branding for reasonable costs, pretty much what livezilla does, but livezilla so far, seems to be the most server efficient in terms of live chat scrits eating up server resources. Typically, a lot of hosts ban chat-room scripts due to the high resource usage these things can typically generate, but livezilla seems to be practically a non-event in that department, and I've also recomended it to customers who were using various other chat scripts with their shopping carts that we had to ask them to stop using because of such problems, and ever since, have also heard nothing but good things about it. I dont use it myself, just yet, but I have it installed on my wifes store, and she has been using it for about a year now, and is very happy with it... Anyway, not wanting to rave on about that, I did use to be a LiveHelp customer several years ago, but am dismayed to find that they still dont allow customising, and branding removal cost is bonkers! I just wish I had read over this lot before buying it, but me being me, saw it and though "hmm, if WHMCS have got involved, it must be better by now, and just bought it, kind of like "Recommendation by association" I guess you might say... The problems I faced with it when I last used it were the same problems it seems people are having here with it, still, I had the same issues with sounds, alerts, wi-fi drop outs for visitors and the branding removal costs, thus just dumped it completely.... I hope that sort of explains it a bit better?

Crikey blimey, seems and sounds like StarDevelop havent changed their ways after all these years... I just bought this addon the other day, tried to install it and am having problems even getting past the installation and its "Invalid licence" screen to login... Before you ask, yes, I have tried everything suggested, even re-installed my own licence key, but nothing. Reading over this lot, I think I'll remove it in favour of livezilla which I have been testing on another website, and its free, and is years ahead of StarDevelops software. I actually was a stardevelop customer several years ago and the exact same problems I'm reading about here, are the same things I experienced several years ago. I for one, certainly do NOT want our live chat covered in StarDevelop, or anybody elses branding, nor have to cough out another small fortune to remove it either... Bummer...

Opening client support ticket does NOT email the client???
Richie replied to Richie's topic in Using WHMCS
Anybody got any advice here? We just upgraded to the latest 4.1 and this is still happening. Open a new ticket for a client and the system just DOES NOT send them an email at all to let them know... -

Opening client support ticket does NOT email the client???
Richie replied to Richie's topic in Using WHMCS
Hi Scurrell Thanks but we already know about this and have had it unchecked since day 1 of our install. -
Hi all Please can anybody point us in the right direction in case were doing something wrong here because every time we open a support ticket ourselves under a clients account login our system does NOT send the client any email to notify them that we have opened a support ticket. We then have to post a second reply to the support ticket telling them they need to login and view the ticket we opened already... Very annoying and comes across as somewhat of a joke to the customers... ?
-
Indeed, we have seen ours do this in the past. Cpanel and WHM accept the passwords if you set them directly in cpanel and/or WHM, but not WHMCS. Havent tested it lately, not enough hours in the day to follow every bug in every system everybody use's all of the time..

Email Sending Failed - SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.
Richie replied to Evcthosting's topic in Using WHMCS
Hi Guys We have just upgraded our server to PHP 5.2.11 and now find that we have the exact same problem, SMTP emails are not sending from WHMCS... All was fine a short while ago, earlier tonight, everything hunky dorey, emails going out to customers no problem as of 11pm last night, so an hour ago we upgraded to PHP5.2.11, in line with PCI compliance of HSBC and find our SMTP mail sending is also throwing out the same errors: Downgraded to PHP 5.2.10 and still the same problem... Downgraded again back to PHP5.2.9 where we started from and all was good again... Seems WHMCS 4.2 doesnt like PHP5.2.10/11.. Thats sucks because 5.2.9 wont pass HSBC's PCI scanning checks. -
Personally speaking, WHMCS is farrrr toooo cheap. Matt should be charging $1000+ Modernbill is a pile-o-crap, we used it for years and it only ever went from "not too great" to "totally dreadful"
-
We would also really love to try this out, not right now as were about to make some major changes and upgrade our WHMCS, but will contact you again when we are ready, just wanted to drop in and let you know were REALLY interested in this. Surely though, you must have some sort of rough price in mind, you cant just be working on somethig and not knowing how much you will even want for it?? Like, you know it will be more than £10, but if we said £50, would that be a yes, or a "keep going" ???

WHMCS Device Managment / Bandwidth Billing
Richie replied to SharedLayer's topic in Commercial Modules and Addons
Me too, I'm interested. Why is this all seemingly so hush hush?
