  1. A piece of friendly advice Serenade ... something tells me that you should NOT be looking at webhosting as your business
  2. Sounds like nobody is able to help you ... or at least you are not able to accept anybodies help.
  3. I am sure Matt will not have any problems with any one of us voicing our opinions, and I certainly don't believe Matt would ban any of our accounts for this discussion. Chris, I am certain that everyone of us that have joined NetEarthOne (and therefore shown our support for what you are doing) appreciate the efforts you have undertaken to give us another (and more competitive) option for reselling domain names. But the point is that you have the ability to, and currently are, competing with us - YOUR resellers - at a level that we simply cannot meet. Why not take a leaf out of the books of some of the larger players and price your retail business at a level that will not hurt YOUR resellers. Take Enom for example ... By taking care of YOUR resellers in this fashion then you are likely to gain and retain more resellers (and profit) than you would by selling domains yourself.
  4. Chris. You bought up the issue of GoDaddy/WildWest. This is majorly different because the average person sees these as two different companies. Yes, if you look closely and know what you are looking for, then you can find out that they are the same company. The issue here is branding. If you go to WildWestDomains.com, you cannot buy a domain unless you become a reseller (at which point you could then buy cheper than GoDaddy). In this case though, if my client goes to NetEarthOne.com, they can buy the same domain I am trying to sell them but at a cheaper rate than I will ever be able to offer. I think what you need to decide is whether you want to sell domains or be a registrar. If you want to do both then I would highly recommend building a separate retail brand that has little or no connection to the registrar brand ... because otherwise your resellers are not likely to be there supporting a new business when they can have greater confidence with a well established registrar (even if they do charge a little bit more) And although I understand your comment about not discussing this here, I believe it SHOULD be discussed in public and not behind closed emails.
  5. Matt, would the following also work? {php} $orderid = $smarty->get_template_vars('orderid'); $result = select_query("tblorders","amount",array("id"=>$orderid)); $data = mysql_fetch_array($result); $amount = $data["amount"]; $this->assign('amount',$amount); $clientid = $smarty->get_template_vars('clientsdetails.id'); $result = select_query("tblclients","city,state,country",array("id"=>$clientid)); $data = mysql_fetch_array($result); $this->assign('city',$data["city"]); $this->assign('state',$data["state"]); $this->assign('country',$data["country"]); {/php}
  6. Having said that though ... really nice template Looks fresh and clean. I would suggest changing the rollover menus though so as the current option gets highlighted to make it easier to know what your selecting.
  7. First thing I would say is change the login boxes. I went to the page indicated, entered the provided details in the Username/Password section and got a 404 error. I know that there is a different 'Client Area' section to log in to, but the header login details don't work and would put people off. JMHO.
  8. If you want to use Matt's Whois script to do your WHOIS results, just follow these steps - 1. Download the script from http://mattsscripts.co.uk/mwhois.htm 2. Also download the latest servers list from http://mattsscripts.co.uk/servers.lst 3. Create a new folder on your server called 'mwhois' 4. Upload (at a minimum) the following files to the 'mwhois' folder - config.php mwhois.php servers.lst 5. Create a new folder inside 'mwhois' called 'english' (or whatever you want but you will have to edit the config.php file if changed) 6. Upload (at a minimum) the following files to the 'english' folder - gfooter.tml gheader.tml rawoutput.tml templates.cfg 7. You can edit these tml files to change the look of the output. 8. Change the 'WHOIS' links in your WHMCS templates from <a href="#" onclick="window.open('whois.php?domain={$result.domain}','whois','width=500,height=400,scrollbars=yes');return false">WHOIS</a> to <a href="#" onclick="window.open('/mwhois/mwhois.php?fulldomain={$result.domain}&show_raw=1','whois','width=500,height=400,scrollbars=yes');return false">WHOIS</a> Hope that helps
  9. You could also check out http://www.phpfreaks.com/smarty_manual/page/language.function.include.php.html which means that the variable would not need to be passed as a $_GET but as $this->t2 ... I'm assuming you can edit the conv.php file?
  10. Not sure if this will work, but have you tried {include_php file="/home/xxxxx/public_html/billing/includes/conv.php?amount=".$t2}
  11. So what would happen if you loaded the new CSS file from within the specific template? I know that CSS files 'should' be loaded from the <HEAD>, but loading them inside the <BODY> does actually work. Perhaps this will be a work-around for you.
  12. The easiest thing would be to have a tick box on the product setup that indicates the package is a reseller account, and then passing that variable through to the template. Ooooh Matt .....
  13. Only 3 days? (and only 3 posts) It really sounds like you expect 'all us guys' to be able to come up with a solution for your own problem. So WHMCS doesn't currently have the feature your after? So what. There are a whole bunch of features that WHMCS doesn't have right now ... and even more feature that all the other billing scripts don't have either. And it sounds to me like Matt has actually tried to work with you on this (as he has done with us on several problems too). But hay, if WHMCS doesn't do what you want ... DON'T USE IT. Simple really. But thanks for the feature suggestion. I'm sure Matt will look in to a way that this could be done if enough of us think it would be beneficial .. right Matt?
  14. Excellent, thanks Matt. I was looking through the order templates so it was no wonder I couldn't find it :rofl: The reason I was looking for it was because I have discovered a bit of a problem. If you set the 'Auto Redirect on Checkout' to automatically redirect the user to the gateway, but the gateway if an 'offline' gateway (eg cheque), the transfer page still comes up and basically just sits there. I've checked out the variables passed to this template and can see nothing that would indicate the gateway being used so ... Would it be possible to have a flag on the gateway's to indicate if they should redirect or not. Redirected gateways would work as they do now but non-redirect (or offline) gateways would redirect to the invoice page.
  15. I'm trying to find the template that shows the message 'Please wait while you are redirected to the gateway you chose to make payment...' but have had no luck Can somebody please point me in the right direction?
